E-Z 8 Motel Old Town

The room did its job. We had a place to lay our heads. The room had huge mosquitoes that the staff said was a normal thing for the area. The Jacuzzi was not hot. One of the workers said that it hadn’t been working or getting hot for about a little over a week or so, that was disappointing as that was one thing that drew us to this place compared to a few more that were available for the same time. They were shortstaffed so our room did not get cleaned while we were there for two nights. The first night it was hard sleeping as we heard the train go by in the middle of the night a few times and it was loud and there was also other noises from around the area that kept waking us up. Again the room did its job. We had a place to sleep.

This was the worst notrl i have ever stayed at, the blankets had holes and the pillows had yellow round stains, do not recommend

I was expecting an okay room, but it wasn't well maintained, and bathroom really seemed like a gas station restroom. also smell in the room was weird.

Under the freeway, like literally. Rundown, poor sheets, towels, shower unable to adjust water temp. Terrible bed and one thin cotton blanket. None too clean either. Not the best.

My AC in unit was not working and we had a horrible night due to that when we went to ask for assistance or a fan/portable unit nothing was available and all rooms were full.

Room was dirty, only 1 wash cloth for 2 people no body wash, no shampoo . Bathroom door wouldn't close. No outlet to accommodate my cpap machine

And you can’t beat it for the price

The place is overpriced for the low quality it offers. The place is neglected and to top it off, when I checked in, I was asked for my girlfriend’s ID. I’m not some guy who just picked up a call girl but someone who made a reservation a week in advance. There maybe illegal activity in the area, but I’m sure they won’t follow hotel policy anyways.

Smell so bad

The staff was top of their game from check-in to check out. There is a train that goes by the motel at all hours of the night. The corridors were very dirty upon arrival but cleaned by next day. We had to leave a day early because of the train noise. Otherwise the room was clean and orderly. They were kind enough to give us a refund for the day we did not stay, so big points for checkout staff!!

I needed a last-minute place to stay near the airport. The photos looked decent, and it was cheap. This is hands down the dirtiest, most run-down property I have ever stayed at. The restroom reeked of pot. The room was disgusting with stained walls and doors. The shower was falling apart, with the shower curtain letting all the water spill on the floor. If you are okay with slumming it and just need somewhere to stay, then I guess you can handle one night. But, if you have a family or care about cleanliness and basic amenities (e.g., no telephone in the room), do not stay here.

Terrible. Stay somewhere else.

The young lady in the morning, when I arrived too early (around 10:30 am) for check-in was wonderful, friendly, and helpful. My room wasn't ready, but that was because I showed up early. No problem, I met up with friends and then returned later after the 4 pm check-in time. I was informed by the young Hispanic woman at the front that my room wasn't ready, and it would be 30 minutes for my room to be ready. I sat in the lobby until 5 pm, watched countless guests check in and privided their room keys. I was completely frustrated that my room still wasn't ready after having showed up earlier that morning. Completely unacceptable. I expressed my disappointment with the situation (yes with a few chouce words, which I never ever do) but the young ladies attitude was really what set me off. She became unprofessional and then told me I wasn't going to get my room because of my expressions and words. IF I AM PAYING for something not getting that room is not something that should be threatened. Absolutely RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! To make matters worse, I asked to speak to the owner and the owner doubled down and defended his employee and her rude interaction with me. So, I asked for my bags and left. Thankfully, I had friends staying in another part of town so I had a backup plan.

It was okay for the price.

Pretty good

It was within walking distance to Old Town San Diego, which was half of the appeal of staying here, but it wasn't safe to walk from the hotel. There were homeless people EVERYWHERE; in and around the property. This hotel was nothing like the pictures. I had to go back through the listing on Hotels.com, thinking, did i miss something? We didn't even stay. We walked right back out and drove home.
