Holiday Inn Express San Diego - SeaWorld Area by IHG

Great location and lovely little hotel. Breakfast was really good and enjoyed using the pool.

We went during a busy time, but the value was horrible, had to switch rooms and re pack up 6 people and no comp or anything. Mind you this basic room at almost 500$ per night. We stayed 3 nights.Pull out bed was awful. But the service vas pretty good. Our family was on a 3600 mile road trip this room was 2.5 times more expensive than any other place we traveled (we stayed in 6 hotels)

The room was great and staff were very helpful. Unfortunately the only issue was the parking spaces were difficult to park in especially for trucks.

Parking is included which is a huge plus but keep in mind the majority of parking spaces beneath the hotel are compact car sized but still have plenty of full size parking and also additional full size parking outside. The hotel location is the most convenient I’ve stayed at so far. Very central and close to a lot of destinations and attractions. The breakfast area was busy but even in large numbers there wasn’t a stand still because the morning staff kept the breakfast stocked well. Most importantly the front staff desk were very friendly and helpful and definitely surpassed expectations in customer service.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. My room was clean and adequate for my stay. Only 2 complaints. The TV lost its signal all the time, making it very annoying and hard to watch a program. My other problem was it was noisey. I was on the 3rd floor above the pool and could hear people at the pool. Also noisey neighbors in the hallway, doors slamming, vacuum going.

The staff was very helpful, friendly, and informative. I wish I remember his name, but he gave us great suggestions on places to eat while being patient with us throughout the check-in process. Breakfast was good and varied certain items somewhat from day-to-day. Single elevator would get semi-busy in peak hours. Amenities were great. Location is awesome if you’re going to Sea World or Mission beach. We were able to see the dries and light shows in the evening from our room. Location is accessible to major highways to go anywhere in San Diego. Felt safe with staffed security and several places to get food for the kids were within walking distance. This hotel met all expectations.

The breakfast itself was not very good, but what made the experience very bad was there were not enough tables and seating for many of the guest, including my family for the two mornings we went to breakfast. It was crowded and very unfair to not have any place to sit down with your meal, especially with young children. The food was nothing special. Definitely not fresh or homemade tasting. There could be more options. The coffee machine was probably the best thing in the dining. Not having a place to sit or even set your plates down while trying to get food for the rest of your kids was really awful.

I would recommend an adults only floor, the only downside was kids running down the hall and infants crying. Not sure if that is possible.

The room was perfect.

I wasn't able to get the room I originally wanted, so I had to stay in a handicap room. I notified the front desk attendant that I wanted to get another room. She told me that there wasn't any more room available. This was the room that was assigned to me. I asked for a refund. She told me I had to go through Expedia because I had made my reservation through it. Expedia directed me back to the hotel. The bed was low, which was bad for my knee. The rest of my vacation was not good. I had trouble getting into and out of the low bed.

It was a good hotel regardless of some of the reviews I read! The location was great with plenty of other of restaurants to walk to! The breakfast was great and had options to pick from! The room was comfortable and clean! The staff were super nice and welcoming from the minute we checked in until we checked out. The breakfast area had limited seating, but just took to my room to eat. This might have just been my room but the tub didn’t drain well but not a big deal at all.

The room was sufficient for our needs. Clean room. Nice staff. Good location to things we were there to do. Breakfast was decent. Parking was tight. Walls were extremely thin.
