I would not recommend this property. The facilities are poorly maintained, and the front desk staff are neither polite nor welcoming. Overall, the experience was disappointing.

The building is going through renovations that are much needed and well done. The fitness center was closed, but it was easy to go to another property on the next block for a workout. The room was nice, but there was no thermostat for the air-conditioning, so I couldn’t change it when I felt warm and humid. The location can’t be beat.

Location was great but no ac working in rooms.

Everything was great!

The hotel was undergoing a renovation, so some floors were newly updated and others (ours included) were so old that even the bathtub felt like it might give out. On the hotels.com site I was sold something that looked a lot nicer and newer than what I walked into at the property. Everything was old and dated on our floor and room, and at over $350/night I expected something different... I expected what I saw on the hotels.com site when I saw the pictures of the room I was supposed to get.

Nice updated lobby but the floors and rooms are old and outdated. Some rough spots throughout hallways and bathrooms. Bed was clean but old spring mattress. However you get what you paid for, was perfectly ok for a one night stay.

Actual message from the hotel manager: "Sorry, but The Manhattan at Times Square doesn't have air conditioning....Turning off the thermostat completely will help cool down the room. We can also provide a fan to your room upon request". The A/C in the lobby was working well though! It was 85 degrees this day. When I asked the staff for help and showed the message, they immediately pulled me away from the other customers. It appears from the comments here that many other customers had the same issue. They were nice in giving my money back; Expedia was apparently so shocked that they gave me a credit to another booking.

I think our floor (7th) was the only one not remodeled. The decor was very dated, and the shower curtain smelled like mildew. They did change it immediately after we asked. Also, only 2/4 elevators were working. Lastly, the AC basically had only on or off capabilities. The fan never shut off on the “auto” position.

Cuarto que yo me quedé está horrible la alfombra sucia la tina tenía agua acumulada Yo tengo un bebé de 5 meses y ese cuarto apestaba tuve que desinfectar No tiene. I would save the price you paid for two nights. It was absolutely poor quality experience. I stay included a complementary breakfast for two however, the breakfast options were slim to none and I was even getting a rat bitten Muffin. In regards to my room, the shower and bathroom could be tidy or cleaner and the shampoo , conditioner and bath wash could’ve been checked and refilled as they were almost empty. I would say the people at the door or those that stand outside the hotel were the most pleasant.

Breakfast was free which was a stand by the front desk offering drink, fruit, and muffin or bagel. The coffee was amazing person in charge was sweet. I did not know this was an ihg hotel and I have a membership. This has happened before and front desk will put it towards my account. This check in person would not do it. Room was clean but needed a lot of work. All paper on bottom of walls was peeling off all around the room Thermostats dial was broken off only had fan that worked. Water faucets were hard turning off water. The rates were low and I guess this is why the. Again it was clean

Cool spot for a night or a weekend. Rich history behind the hotel.
-
In the second room we had the AC stopped working the morning we were checking out.
-
It was clean and safe, the room was really basic, no mini fridge, no frills, maintenance in a room next door started at 7am

Perfect location!
-
The room we received was not as ideal as the pictures. Also based on the lobby that was really nice the floor we stayed on had old carpets and the room was in an old state.

Great friendly staff. Rooms need some updates. Our room light on the desk had exposed wires and shorted out if you touched them plugging in my charger. Plug behind cabinet between beds the electrical socket need TLC. Potential fire hazard. But other than that the only complaint is the elevators situation but i understand they are updating them. Perfect location for Time Square and Broadway theaters. Price was decent with the world cup going on. Close to Carnigie Hall and Central Park and subways to get you any where.
