Hyatt House LAX/Century Blvd

Property was nice however, the air was not working that great in the room so we were a little hot all night. Also this is the first hotel I have been in with NO window!! This was the worst part. The room was dark and I didn’t like it. However they have a nice pool on the roof top, and the hotel was really clean.

Food was good, staff helpful and friendly.

We (family of 6) were on a very quick stop-over flying from Maui back to Charlotte with an overnight in LA. The hotel itself was nice; clean and well maintained and the staff were very kind. The room however was kind of icky. Whatever mop water they used was greasy (kind of like restaurant kitchen floors) and we literally slid across the floor of the kitchen area. The room itself had a weird smell. It took the room a while to get cooled down once we got there as well. We didn't check in until really late (almost midnight) and left again by 8 am the next morning so it wasn't worth requesting a different room. Loved having the airport shuttle though, that was very helpful so we didn't have to rent a car! Both drivers were very friendly and helpful!!

I went to the front desk to extend my room another night and was told I could, but I would have to book another room. I was fine with that and was then told the hotel was sold out for the night. I asked if I could extend the room until 3 because it’s an option listed on the website and on the form they gave me when I checked in. The young man at the desk told me I could not extend my room until 3pm either because they were sold out. I went to the Hyatt website and they had rooms available for the day and the Hotels.com also had rooms available. Since it appeared my money was not good enough I went across the street to the Sonesta where the staff was nice and accommodating. I got a room right away for a cheaper rate. They waived the early check in fee and the whole process took less than 5 minutes.

We stayed here when visiting our daughter who lives in Westchester so only minutes away from LAX. The hotel is surprisingly comfortable for an airport hotel and staff are friendly. The free buffet breakfast isn’t exactly gourmet and the seating area could be cleaned more often, but it is convenient.
