Hotel Riu Plaza Chicago

I love how everyone can’t go to just any floor with their keycard. That’s great for safety. The rooftop bar was nice and beautiful especially at night. The hotel staff was quick, efficient, and very helpful. Breakfast was amazing and fresh every morning.

Not really a 4 star. Ok stay

Quiet room. Great view. Great roof top happy hour. Super breakfast. Just didn’t like we were charged some extra fee when we arrived - like $56 for some extra tax or service facility charge. Also, you can’t take your coffee to go at breakfast, so being the paper cup from your room.

Great outdoor terrace and the breakfast was a pleasant surprise! Check out and getting car back from valet was seamless!

The Hotel is well located. The staff is friendly and helpfull.Very clean facility, nice roof top bar/restaurant. Breakfast is oustanding. Overall great experience.

No hot water in shower and toilet didn’t flush properly.

The only restaurant on the property is a rooftop bar with small plates that are not kid friendly, and because it’s a rooftop bar, it’s only available when the weather is good. Our shower did not drain. There is no ice machine or any other vending on the property. There is no sundries shop/store on the property. The room does not have a microwave. Our bathroom door did not lock nor, was there any bathroom vent/fan. For being only two years old, the hotel really should have better television options, including streaming services. Watch out – many of the general hotel/reservation websites show this location is having a “rooftop pool,” but it does not have any pool.

Perfect location and staff was great!

This is a great hotel just off Michigan Ave. excellent location and walkable to many sites. Loved the rooftop lounge and the amazing breakfast! Would definitely stay here again!

There isnt a vending machine with drinks or snacks. I had to walk a block to 7-11 at night. That was my only complaint. Other than that my say was awesome.

The hotel room cleanliness is of a very high standard. The complementary breakfast is extraordinary with a different majority of food and with a good procedure to take care of guests. The rooftop bar was sophisticated and attracts high class clientele. The room space is big enough to feel comfortable. There is individual Wi-Fi for each room that allows you to connect your phone to the TV. And the location downtown was excellent.
