Fairfield Inn & Suites Hartford Airport

Neither the hotel or Hotels.com advised us of such Nothing else available for us to switch too. We would have switched hotels if we knew!

Run down, old, depressing. Avoid.

There was stains on the wall to go up the elevator and a wall in the room has stains all over groce.

Shower didn’t drain and none of the outside doors opened with the key cards

Room was very clean as were the other facilities. The biggest problem we observed was the front desk was woefully understaffed. The clerk had 6-7 people in line and was trying very hard to deal with everyone’s issues. She was doing a yeoman’s job - just no help. It was after 3:00 so it was check in time. So the hotel should have had someone there to assist the desk clerk.

Close to Airport Filthy!! I saw a cockroach in the hallway

Cons: Small rooms. Low toilets. Just ok breakfast.

The lighting in the room was a bit dim.

There was not staff at the front desk. We could not get into the room because the room card did not work. No staff was to be found. No one answered the phone. We knocked on the office door. No body answered.

Rooms are not cleaned every day

It is an older hotel and it shows in the little things. Not enough outlets. Cracked molding in the bathroom. We only stayed one night and left at 4:45 am so didn’t use any amenities or the breakfast. It is a short ride by shuttle to the airport

We came to ask for additional towel and saw she was telling all of the information while checking in another guest. That is how we knew she was discriminating us. The hallway/corridor on 3rd floor has strong odor of toilet or something not sure. But our room did not have any smell. There was something definitely wrong with other room which made the corridor smelling disgusting.

Great location! Hotel is though outdated and needs an upgrade. Staff was very nice.

Wonderful Breakfast with a lot of options

Elevator was broken. Check-in in was having issues assigning rooms with new booking system and staff complaining that they received no training. Stayed two nights and my room was not cleaned on second night. Breakfast was decent.

Milk and yogurts were expired. Room was clean. Breakfast wasn't very good. We had to eat elsewhere. Parking was okay. Well lit. Elevator didn't work the whole week were there.

We arrived at 10:30 pm from the airport. No staff at the front desk. Waited for 20 minutes before a female staff member came to the desk. No explanation or apology. She begrudgingly informed me that they had no vacancy for the night. I showed her my reservation that we had made over a month prior. She then took my credit card and name, found my reservation and swiped my card for incidentals. I was told that it would be a while due to a glitch in the reservation system…no problem. I understand that things happen. I looked at my account and noticed that my card was charged double. I went back up to the counter to inform her about the double charge. She said “don’t worry about it” and then proceeded to tell me that there was no room and that she was the only staff in the hotel and she did not know what to do. We were exhausted. I asked if we should be looking for another hotel. She could not give any direction other than to say that the hotel overbooked and to wait a little longer. A few other families walked in and immediately were given rooms. At this point it had been almost hour and a half. I went back up to the desk and questioned why we were the only reservation affected by the “glitch”. She could not give me an answer except for “there are rooms but they are dirty and I am the only one here”. I walked away to look for another hotel and when I returned, my minor son had been given a hotel key. No signatures, No ID. Room was a single bed when reserved two.
