Hampton Inn Virginia Beach-Oceanfront South

The stay was okay. We had to physically move the microwave so we can plug it up and use it. For me, bedding was not comfortable and not fully clean either. Other than that the staff was nice and very helpful.

PROS-The view from our 7th floor was spectacular. The room itself was a good size for 2 people, and the bed was quite comfy. The shower/tub was plenty big with nice hot water and good pressure. Check in and check out was easy. The parking garage is very convenient, but take note-it is $20 per day to park. The boardwalk is clean and had so much to do! The restaurants and shops along Atlantic Ave were easy to walk to. We didn’t even need our car. CONS- The bathroom had mold and the water smelled like rotten eggs. It’s a pet-friendly hotel, so dogs were barking in the rooms beside us all the time! Shame on their humans!! Breakfast wasn’t that great. Undercooked sausage and potatoes, so we ate at local restaurants the rest of our stay. The housekeeping staff could use much more training on how to properly clean. Our room got “cleaned” twice during our 5 night stay. My husband had to get us clean towels daily, and he even borrowed their broom to seep our floor. The indoor pool is super tiny and was dirty. I won’t stay at this particular location again.

Created memories with sand and ocean views, great food, and great times. Love the balcony with open door sleeping to ocean waves. Amazing. If you look for things to complain about, you may find a few, but nothing big. The pool is great. Location and parking great. Breakfast way better than average.

Excellent location in ocean front and with the boardwalk next. Really enjoyed our mornings at the sunrise and the evenings with the night life.

Just can’t beat the ocean views from the balcony, room was clean, beds were clean, breakfast was delicious! Rooms were nicely updated in style and decor, definitely a good price for a very nice room with ocean front balconies! $20 to park in the on site parking garage when the Hampton inn oceanfront north has a free parking lot for guests is a bit ridiculous. Beds weren’t the softest but not the hardest either.

Fantastic and will come back again

The property is convenient. I don’t have to worry about the parking situation to enjoy the beach when the hotel provides beachfront rooms. It was at a whim getaway but well deserved.

However, there were several issues with the room cleanliness and maintenance. The floors did not seem properly cleaned, and since we were traveling with children, we ended up cleaning them ourselves. In the bathroom, the toilet paper roll was already partially used, although there was an extra roll available. There was also no shampoo in the shower dispenser — only body wash and conditioner. I reported the missing shampoo in the evening through the front desk, and the staff member informed me that it would be taken care of the next day. However, this request was not followed up on and the information was not passed on to the next shift, so nothing was delivered. Additionally, the toilet was leaking during our stay and we had to resolve the issue ourselves. Overall, the staff was friendly, but communication between shifts and housekeeping standards could be improved.

Rooms were clean. However, there was a stain in the seat of one of the chairs that obviously could not be removed. We were offered another room which we gladly took! Staff was very gracious in quickly resolving the matter. Breakfast was good and the ocean view was outstanding!

The room was clean and comfortable. The towels were soft and fluffy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The ocean view from our balcony was spectacular!! The doors are very heavy and hard to open. The sliding glass door in our room was super hard to open. I actually had sore arm muscles after our stay. The only other things I didn't like was the lack of low sugar or carb selections at the continental breakfast.
