The rooms are quite small. The most positive things were the nice water pressure in the shower, good soundproofing, and the excellent restaurant. But not all electrical sockets in the room were working and the WiFi signal was very weak. The sink drained very slowly. You must request the mini fridge and coffee maker once you are in the room.

Clean rooms and great service
-
location was good under renovation and bar restaurant was closed.
-
Currently the restaurant is being repaired for HVAC issues so we didn't get to experience that. The room was bigger than I thought it would be and the view was phenomenal. Two of the lights were having issues and spectrum cable leaves something to be desired but who goes to NY to watch tv

Exceptional

Great location It has really gone downhill since I first went there about 5 years ago. Needs some TLC
-
I loved the location and the decor/vibe was very cool! I had trouble getting my room to a good temperature (it was very cold).
-
Lovely little hotel. Will return for sure. Amazing staff, everything is clean, food is great. There is a fan blowing cold air in the room that you can’t turn off. I learned that you need to ask front desk to close it. Also - hotel provides car service to and from airport. Super convenient and cheaper than uber. Enjoy!
-
Breakfast there is also excellent. We were very happy with our experience at the hotel!

Adding a wall or door hook for bulky coats in each room would be very helpful.

This hotel is more on the traditional side with lovely touches - coffee and waters in the lobby - and really friendly and helpful staff. The room decor (at least the doubles/queen rooms) is a bit tired and dated, but overall a very pleasant stay and slept very well and quietly on the upper floors. The rooms are on the smaller side though have been told the King rooms are larger - good to note for next time. Will stay again. The Double/Queen rooms are on the smaller size and have not been renovated.

I can't say enough about this hotel. I spoke with Grey on the phone beforehand & she was so wonderful. From the front desk staff, the bellman-who was super helpful & even brought us welcome cookies to our room, the nice room, all of the amenities, housekeeping, they all went above & beyond. This is THE MODEL HOTEL. I will never forget all of the thoughtful extras. Thank you for making our trip to Greenwich Village Unbelievable & Unforgettable! You are all truly the best!!!!

Style and location In areas lighting was too low (restroom stair case)
-
The elevators were very dimly lit but not as dimly as the stairs to the basement where the public bathrooms are. So dark one risks falling and breaking one’s neck. A ghastly and thoughtless piece of interior design. Descend at your own risk! By 4pm our room had still not been cleaned so never was that day as we’d come back to change and cleaner had gone home!

Our room was on the small side, but I realize space is at a premium in NYC and so it didn't bother me, especially since we were there to see family and were always out and about. It was a lovely room with a very comfortable bed and a really good shower. Honestly, this hotel just felt like home when we walked in the door. There were always guests hanging out downstairs, either working on their computers or just relaxing during the day, or having a cocktail while listening to live music in the evening--just a lively vibe in general and very pleasant. The restaurant and bar at the hotel were definitely a plus; we thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails and lunches we had there. The location is great with plenty of good shopping and restaurants in the area, and we felt very comfortable walking and accessing public transportation if we wanted to skip the cost of an Uber ride.

Fab location with cafe on site and daily water provided.

I paid in advance for three rooms under three name, but they charged one person on the reservation an additional and random 1,000 on check out. When she called to find out why first they claimed it was mini bar charges (would have been a lot of m and m’s) then that it was the charge for the stay. Again, it was prepaid. It took weeks and a half dozen calls to get it sorted and we’ve yet to see a refund . The hotel was fine and location solid, but I would never stay again and recommend others to avoid as it doesn’t seem like an isolated issue based on other reviews.

The lobby offers jazz nightly, where you can order drinks and food. The cafe is a great addition, as well as room service, which we truly enjoyed. The rooms are appointed in deco style with lots of character. Extra bonus (which we didn’t realize in advance) is that it’s dog friendly. If you want a small boutique with lots of charm in a terrific, walkable neighborhood, this hotel is the perfect choice.
