Great location, excellent dining experience and beautiful onsen We asked to check out at 11am instead of 10am. They charged us around 50USD for that hour. Almost 10%of the room. That was insulting and just rude.

We had stayed here eleven years ago & thought then that this was an excellent onsen. We returned here in part to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Dogo Kan improved their facilities even more to our liking. The room was very spacious & the beds comfortable. The furo were relaxing, the kaiseki dinner & breakfast were delicious and checking-in/out was without effort. I also liked that our fellow guests were respectful & well-behaved. We've stayed at other onsens, where guests (foreign) needed to reminded about speaking too loud in the furo. As eleven years ago, the onsen did not offer shuttle service from JR Matsuyama station. We took a taxi, which wasn't a problem, but perhaps provide a shuttle at set times as a courtesy to the guests. Another issue was that on this stay, my wife was unable to deal with the slopes near the onsen. We extensively explored the area during the 1st trip, so she declined to do so again.
