Red Roof Inn Washington DC - Columbia/ Fort Meade

Put in a nonsmoking room that was covered in smoke and was dirty. Bugs were crawling around and just was not clean

We were greeted by a lovely and helpful desk attendant. The room was relatively clean, but we encountered several problems--a sink that backed up during the night, bugs in the bathroom, and a group of construction workers hanging around outside our room until late in the night. When we came back from having breakfast at a restaurant, our room keys didn't work. The staff member at the front desk remedied the problem. The next morning, we took one load of belongings to the car and, when we tried to re-enter the room, our keys didn't work again. Then, when we were ready to check out, there was no one on duty at the desk. We waited about 10 minutes and gave up on getting a receipt.

Nothing The roaches!!!!!!

Absolutely NOTHING. Everything smelled like smoke, the toilet did not work, the shower water smelled terrible and the lock on the door did not work. People cleverly lived in this hotel and it was very scary to stay there. I stayed awake ALL night fearful that our room would be broken into. If I was so terrified to say anything I would’ve requested a full refund but I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible!!!!! TOTAL waste of money!!!!

Too many people hanging outside. The shower rod needed to be cleaned or replaced. The hot water didn't come on until later that night

Location Customer service was really poor. Staff had a hard time checking me into my room because I had a Canadian passport, I got locked out of the room several times and the towels were less than decent. I stayed 4 nights and slept on the same sheets. Floors were sticky when I walked in it barefooted. TV never worked once.

It was an amazing one-night stay. The room was clean.

Nothing Everything. Smelled of cigarettes, dead bugs in the bathroom, stains on the sheets, television not working.

Room was clean, area was quiet. Good stay for a quick in and out trip for my son’s lax tournament. Close to dining options.

For a none smoking property I felt like I walked to a cigarette’s chimney because of the smoke smell. I had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes to be checked in and not because it was busy but because there was nobody available. When the guy at the front desk finally showed up, there was no apologies, no greeting but a simple do you want to check in, unprofessional service at its best. Woke up in the morning, there was no hot water in the room at all, called the front desk to find out what was going on, all I got was “oh yeah we are aware of the situation but maintenance won’t be here until morning can’t give you a time though” so I left. The room was clean though. I guess they have good housekeeper but terrible front desk staff.
