Southbank Hotel by Marriott Jacksonville Riverwalk

The perfect room, the breakfast service with a variety of food and the very friendly employees.

This one of our favorite hotels in Jacksonville, staff is nice and helpful 😃 love the river.

While the facility is under construction it was a great place to be. Staff were most accommodating and friendly to ask questions about the community. Definitely a place to stay.

When checking in, our room did not match what was advertised — our mattress was not on a bed frame, it was laying on an unswept, dirty carpeted floor. We even ended up finding half eaten candy in our bed upon arrival. We ended up changing rooms, although the staff was helpful, our stay was not up to par. Pool was closed, gym was not operable, bar not opened… the list goes on. We ended up getting knocks on our door before 11 am (checkout time) from people working on the hotel. They seemed to be painters? Not sure. Overall, not thrilled with our stay due to several amenities being unavailable and the uncleanliness of the property itself. Definitely not worth the price paid.

The property has been under renovations for over 6 months (unknown to me when i made the reservation). No turn down service in the 4 nights I was there (I asked twice). They were obviously short-staffed

Will stay again subsequent to renovation completion. Common areas were a little dingy and absent of air conditioning.

Don’t bother staying here until renovations are finished!

No fan in the bathroom. Elevators smell bad.

The hotel was nice with a beautiful view, but is also under a lot of construction right now, so the lobby and bars are not accessible completely. The parking lot is confusing as to where to park and no one tells you where to go. There are no door hangers to hang towels or long garment bags.

Upon checking in, we found the hotel undergoing a co.plete renovation. Most of the main lobby closed off and the bar moved to the restaurant. The elevators were also being renovated and taken out of service 1 or 2 at a time out of the 3. I would have expected Expedia to have some type of construction notice when booking. I always stay at the Southbank when in Jacksonville, but this had to be the most disappointing visit EVER!!! Call the hotel beforehand to confirm status of renovation to avoid any issues.

Nothing $178 for one night close to riverwalk but parking is $17 there was a dog convention no one listed it was barking dogs 24/7 the entire night not worth $200 at ALL

I love this hotel and have stayed many times. This time, they main lobby and bar/restaurant was under renovations and I couldn't enjoy the ambience for dinner and drinks as I have previously. In spite of the inconvenience to me, the staff were also inconvenienced but they came through with flying colors. From the valet, to front desk, to waiters and bartenders, the entire staff was AWESOME!

Total rat hole- whole place is under renovation for the last two years. Overcharging for parking, construction debris, calling this a Marriott bonvoy has to be fake- if it actually is a real bonvoy property somebody from Marriot should go take a look because I for one just lost total confidence in the brand. This is an old property that is running some kind of smoke show with Marriot. Maybe one day it will be of Bonvoy quality, however this has been going on for two years now, with very little to no progress.

Smell Renovations and old

This hotel is under-construction. My suite was not clean, light was coming through the door to outside and the connecting door. I couldn't access the business center. The gym was tiny. Bugs were able to come in through the cracks in the doors.

Staff was great...both friendly and helpful, good restaurant, quiet hallways, room was clean, nice view of the river from room.

I would definitely stay away from this property right now. I booked two nights through hotel.com and they never told me the property was under construction. We had no room service and roaches in our room. This was not the Marriott experience I’m used to. They were nice enough to give me some Marriott points, but at the end of the day, I did not receive the value for the money I spent for the room.
