Why do they charge for parking?

The breakfast was very good as were the choices available. The TV experience was the poorest I have ever experienced in any hotel. We wanted some soft music, but none was accessible. You offer a TV, but then deny its use.

Clean and spacious room for two. Lots of convenient parking with Chinese restaurant, Starbucks and Jamba Juice right in front of lobby across the street. Centrally located to freeway & San Mateo Bridge.

Great service

was a fan of many years of this property which, now suffering from lowering standards, is less clean and less compelling as it once was. my room was maybe a 5 of 10 on the cleanliness index. 90% of carpet stains can be shampooed out so it’s clear to me that no one is even trying. linens were old or simply of low quality. soaps, shampoos and shower water pressure were terrible. do we just accept this now? the TV picture quality was very bad and quite fixable but the universal remote they give you doesn’t allow you to fix it - which i would gladly have done. mattress and pillows were good. there IS a blow dryer in the room but i defy you to find it. staff were friendly but unkept and spoke minimal english so pleasantries i suppose are a thing of the past. SO much of this is easy to fix but you need to find one person - just one - who gives a damn. standards have slipped and it’s sadly a very mediocre experience. i didn’t find any bedbugs so you have that going for you!

Staff was great but a few things didn’t work properly

The hotel area felt safe, staff was friendly, bed was comfortable, very clean in general, and overall recommend! My only complaint is that the fire detector is directly over the bed and the little light is so uncomfortably bright at night. I had a pack of sticky notes and was able to cover it enough to sleep well. The light from the hallway also comes into the bedroom but the way the bed is positioned, it wasn’t too bad. Also, I’m sensitive to strong scented shampoo/body soap and theirs is very strong smelling (smells good but too strong) so my allergies kicked in.

The bistro food is good and fairly priced for a hotel. The staff is also very friendly. My main issue was the fire alarm with its shining green light is right above the bed so it's a bit like sleeping under a spotlight. Also, the rooms are not as quiet as one would hope and, though I'm uncertain of this practice, it would seem the guests are not "spaced out" in the property allowing for minimal disturbance from other guests coming/going. The adjoining room door can be a bit unnerving in the middle of the night when a neighbor checks in and they try to open the door (or ensure its locked).
