Extended Stay America Suites Chicago Midway

I did not intend to stay overnight in Chicago, but a missed flight connection required me to do so, thus I had a late booking at this hotel. The price was right as well as the closeness to the airport. The hotel is dated and worn BUT the room and bathroom were clean (although the rug too was worn), and the bed was comfortable. The reception clerk was matter-of-fact and was clear about the rules and breakfast ameneties, which I didn't have since my Uber pickup was at 3:30 am. I was grateful to him for advising that I book the Uber before I went to sleep. That worked out well.

This is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a very long time with a hotel. It was dirty. The carpet looked like it had been outside, the furniture inside the room was old and beat up the room had a foul smell to it.

The room was adequate and location was good. Easy to get on and off the freeway.

The desk attendant was immediately VERY rude during the check in process. Additionally, a few of my new “clean” towels had black hairs on them, so I went to the front desk to ask for replacement towels and the attendant rudely replies “you need to bring the other towels we are replacing to me” so I walked back to the room to get the 2 “dirty” towels . I also had an issue with the power circuit breaker going out , I called to have it resolved and the gentleman that came started interrogating me on “what I touched” like I was a child. I let him know I had not touched any of the things he pointed out and he simply replied “well don’t”. I felt like EVERY employee there hated their job and customers . Why be is a CUSTOMER SERVICE industry if you’re going to hate dealing with customers. The only reason I picked this hotel was because it was close to the venue of a music festival that my son was attending. I would NEVER recommend otherwise .

The front desk is rude, asking confirmation number, all I can find is itinerary number.

Stayed for a night. Clean room. Responsive staff. Quiet.

It took more than 3p mins to get checked in.

Breakfast doesn’t exist. However, the reason why it’s not 1 stars is because of Janice, she was amazing and great and really gave us a great experience. We are from the UK. Janice deserves a promotion but hotel is a shambles

No ice. No in-room coffee. No shampoo. No extra blanket. No extra pillows. No healthy options for breakfast. Filthy windows. Hall carpet dingy.

It was dirty

If you like meth, this is the place for you. It smelled of smoked meth and there was meth residue everywhere. It made my skin burn.

Dirty, small and overpriced. Our power in our room went out in the middle of the night.

No ice machines. No in-room coffee. No shampoo. No extra blankets or pillows. No fresh fruit or healthy options for breakfast. Windows filthy. Hall carpets dismal.

Upon arrival at midnight, due to my delayed flight, I found that my paid reservation was cancelled. When I arrive to the hotel I was told to wait because the system was updating. After the update I was told that there was no reservation since I had arrived late. However I had paid my 2 nights. At that point there were no rooms available and being past 1 am I was forced to sleep in my vehicle. I don’t understand why the hotel canceled my fully paid reservation!!! Horrible
