The Heart of Texas Motel

It started out with my service dog, I am recovering from breast cancer & the PTSD it has caused me from my life being turned upside down. Anyway, there was a 10 minute argument over that, I had already booked through a third party, I couldn't change, nor get a refund, and it was Memorial week-end. Finally able to get into the room, which wasn't that bad, room was clean, the mini fridge was great! The shower was nice as well, just be sure to have your own towels, wash clothes, and such. I probably wouldn't stay there again, and they probably would not let me due to my service dog. He goes everywhere with me!!!!

Deferred maintenance issues. Soiled windows. Broken screens.

The only real downside was the refrigerator was really loud when it turned on to cool. It made a loud pop, and then came on for several minutes increasing in volume as it went. But, this was made better by turning the A/C fan on full time. Overall, I'm not sure I'd recommend this place as it doesn't have a very "I'm really safe here" vibe, being in a not great part of Austin. However, if you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay, this isn't that bad a choice.

Good price

very clean. No pool

No real amenities

Great stay. Only complaint is that there were kids running around on the second floor for like 45 minutes one evening. Also there were a couple moments where it felt/sounded like someone was moving large furniture in the room next door, and it was very jarring for 15 minutes on and off.

The air conditioner worked well, but it was loud and cycled on often.

The shower curtain was worn. The bathroom door was battered.

Clean room

Overall was a great stay and i would go again. Walls were somewhat dirty but room and bathroom felt clean. There were NO signs of roaches, insects, rodents or pests. Also wifi didn't work too well.

Everything was just fine. Nothing weird or surprising. A decent quiet place to stay.

So close to mopac.and walls are paper thin. The traffic noise was pretty unbearable. It was clean but I had some bugs in the bed. Not bed bugs I'm pretty sure but little flying insects. Paper thin walls

Clean room, ok for the price and location

We liked our room, it was very clean and organized upon arrival. Staff was friendly. This is a nice option for budget-friendly lodging.

Pricey, yet they get away with it for the area

Bed was uncomfortable, but the room was clean. The mini fridge was loud, I had to unplug it so I could sleep.
