East Austin Hotel

My family and I had a great experience at this hotel. The staff were nice and kind. I will recommended to friends and family.

I would not recommend this “hotel” to my worst enemy. The staff was incredibly rude, the hotel felt like a motel, a portion of the ceiling nearly fell on my head and it was wet somehow, the carpet also felt really old and dirty. I was given a food voucher that expired the same day and they don’t explain that when you check in…the waiter left me talking to myself when I tried to explain that I had checked in late the day prior and therefore couldn’t have used the voucher the day prior but it had already expired so he just walked away and didn’t care to hear me out. The entire stay was awful and I really regret staying there. Parking is nearly $40 a night just FYI and I found the garage gate wide open multiple times, so your car and belongings aren’t all that safe as anyone can walk in.

Everything about the property is fantastic. Great amenities, comfortable beds and the staff was great.

Excellent room if you are looking for something affordable and nearby local stores and restaurants! It was easy for us to go get dinner and just walk around at night. They do have a pool, but we didn't get to swim. Looks more like a pool for cooling and wading than actual swimming from the size of it. The room we stayed in was great. It was cool and the bed was pretty comfortable. The bathroom was interesting because the wall did not connect with the ceiling so technically you could hear the person showering or using the restroom. The staff were amazing even when I had the munchies at 3am, there was someone in the lobby that I could grab snacks. The only downside I will warn others about was the wifi. The hotel offers complimentary wifi for the guests but it literally disconnected everytime I tried to connect. Sometimes the wifi didn't even show up as an option. If you are okay without it, then the stay would be totally fine.

Disappointing

The location is rather convenient, especially if you are willing to walk a bit to places or take a taxi. The smell in the room was unpleasant, almost moldy. It is very humid in Austin at the moment and that did not help. It felt clammy.

Great value and ideal location if you want to stay in a hip part of town with tons of nearby bars and restaurants. Not ideal for families but an awesome option if you’re looking for excitement.

We stayed one night before catching an early flight out of Austin. Our friends met us for supper at Poeta and it was outstanding! Best lasagna ever! The hotel is close to bars, so there is some music noise, which is to be expected—not terrible though! Will def stay again when we have an early flight!

The room was clean The food was very expensive and very poor. I ordered a pasta dish that arrived within minutes, nuked in the microwave and tasted disgusting. At $30, I would expect at least something edible. Not the best area, they were lots of homeless people, As a lone female traveller, I found it a bit intimidating.

Staff was very friendly and we had a great stay I’ll definitely be coming back

For the most part, the place was adequate. However, the place had a musty smell. Relatives who had stayed there also remarked about the smell so it wasn't just us. It gave us an incentive to not stay in the hotel unless to sleep.
