This is a beautiful property and centrally located. We only stayed one night as a quick bop over from Maryland. We interacted with 7 staff members total during our brief stay and they were all kind and helpful. We especially enjoyed a short friendly chat with the person that checked us in. We forgot a few items and the front desk person cheerfully helped us. The fresh flowers in the lobby were stunning. Initially I was concerned that they may be a musty smell due to the age of the hotel but to my surprise it was one of the cleanest places I’ve experienced and I am particular. We ordered breakfast for our room and it was as expected. The bar and restaurant were nice although we did not experience them beyond breakfast. The water was nice and hot and the bathroom was clean. The robes were a nice touch. We had a lovely view and the couch in our room did not seem worn which made my day! There were both complimentary wake up and bedtime teas. The air was nice and cold and the only noise we experienced was street noise but no noise from inside the hotel itself. The street noise wasn’t a problem as we travel with a white noise machine. All in all very pleasant visit. We will stay again.

All the staff were amazing beginning with the checkin complicated by how Hotel.com made the reservation

Very nice hotel and near everything

It was a nice lovely historica hotel. I was at the room 206 and like the space with the desk that seems to be a good zone. Everything is clean, we did not have any breakfast, Hotel staff are friendly and helpful and also help open the door for us, which some hotels do not have anymore as most hotel has automatically door so this reminds me of the old time. The hotel is clean and I love the wall decoration. If we will be back to DC, I recommend this hotel. Good location!

Hotel was a little outdated but staff was helpful and the room was clean.

The room temperature was unadjustable and is constantly on cooling mode. When informed to the front desk, I was told that the entire hotel system is on cooling mode so there is no way to turn the heat on for my specific room. Checkin process was a pain due to miscommunication. My incidentals/ameneties were covered by a CC provided by my wife, which was authorized to the hotel by a CC authorization form prior to check in. Upon checkin, I was told that the form which I submitted should agree to all payments including room and taxes, which I was paying separately. I had to get my wife fill out a new form since I wasn’t allowed to checkin. This should have been communicated when I requested the CC authorization form prior to checkin. The front desk staff felt a bit rude at this point as if I was the one who is in the wrong.

Absolutely loved the staff and restaurant
-
loved the location. Bathroom was small with very low appliances. Otherwise everything was fine. I would come back again.
-
My stay was comfortable but the outside noise was very loud (fire trucks and police) all night with the city view.

The room was flawless and exactly as presented online. The hotel hits every detail perfectly: a massive soaking tub, plush spa robe, high-quality toiletries, and a dedicated makeup-remover cloth. The in-room Keurig has a great coffee/tea selection, and every lamp has built-in charging plugs. Staff even proactively offered to send up slippers when mine were missing. The 24-hour room service is impeccable, the Henley Classic breakfast was amazing. The property also features, The Tavern restaurant, under a skylight atrium, afternoon tea in the Wilkes Room, and the Blue Bar Lounge, alongside free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour front desk, and a fitness center. I have only two minor critiques. My 7th-floor window lacked a view, and the only parking option is valet at $59/night. While I didn't mind the valet service, a lower-cost option for guests would be perfect. Regardless, the pros vastly outweigh the cons. From the historic charm to the modern tech and dining, it is an incredible urban retreat. I will always check for availability here first when visiting DC again.
