Our weekend stay was amazing
-
Very small rooms, eding on the uncomfortable. Staff was, ok but not greeting or attentive. Bathroom was good.
-
Smaller room but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Clean, despite some construction happening while I was there. Two blocks from the train and trolley, 10 min walk to gaslamp. Wish they had a pool… Fitness room had dumbbells up to 50 lb, a multi grip pull-up station, benches, well maintained treadmills, which I was glad for. Great spot to be just out of reach of some of the less desirable issues in downtown SD.

Staff were excellent! Place was clean. They staff made my 5 star rating! Restaurant had yummy food at decent prices. They were under construction so the hotel lobby and restaurant were a little difficult to get to, but amazingly clean for being under construction. There was no coffee maker in the room when I got there but the staff got me one in an hour of arrival. Even better Savannah replenished coffee supply and sugar after 2 days without asking which was above and beyond! Thanks to the staff! Great hotel!

My first nite there I slept 6 hours straight.
-
In addition, the bed sheets had a strong dusty smell, which made the room feel unclean. The bathroom floor is extremely slippery and could be dangerous, especially for children and older guests. Another major downside is that there is no refrigerator in the room, which I consider a basic amenity for a hotel in this price range. For the amount they charge, I expected much better quality, comfort, and transparency. I would not stay here again and would not recommend

They were able to check us in at the wee hours of the morning. Which was greatly appreciated. Though that meant we did not get the rooms we actually paid for (a view and all), but that was our choice. The only thing we did not appreciate was how loud the air-conditioning fan was. It was as if there were something lodged inside constantly banging against the vents. Pretty happy with the stay otherwise. Would recommend. Fine hospitality.

The staff was friendly and it was reasonably priced for downtown San Diego.
-
The only thing that was annoying was that my room was next to the housekeeping entrance door at the end of the hall, and every time it was opened it would slam shut and shake my room, sometimes multiple times in a row (I assume multiple people were coming through the door). It would have been nice if the door was adjusted so it would close softly.

Such a charming hotel. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.
-
The room was smaller than anticipated but extremely comfortable. I’m all other ways the hotel was absolutely awesome.

Great place!

Disappointing

I came during construction that had been taking place in the building that was not previously communicated, nor were rates discounted in any way. Upon arriving, there was no one at the valet station which was quite confusing. I waited in the car for a while hoping someone would come out, but no one ever did. I decided to go inside (keep in mind there is no ramp, so you have to carry your luggage up the steps) and speak to the girl at the front desk. Upon walking in there were drapes everywhere from ceiling to floor (to conceal the construction) and it looked nothing like the photos. I went up to my room and it was perfectly fine (although smaller than I realized, which is no fault of theirs). Online, it specifically states that they have Netflix in the rooms, but the Netflix button on the remote

It’s central to everything, one block away from the train station and about 5 blocks away from Gaslamp It was under construction at the time we stayed but overall really nice

Exceptional
-
The property is under major renovation. There was construction going on all night. The gym was also not available for use. In my opinion, they should close hotel during these extensive renovations. Not fair for travelers to have to live through their construction.
-
The shower water pressure I hate hate hate that they didn’t have parking for the hotel guests like how does that make sense? Then they offer you to pay self parking for $35 over night EACH NIGHT or valet for $68 A DAY. That is so bizarre to me. Also the hotel room didn’t have a fridge or a microwave. Then to top it all off there was no pool or hot tub to make up for the price of the ridiculous situation with the parking.
-
Everything was great the only problem is the parking.

Exceptional
