Newport Beach Marriott Bayview

Hotel staff all very kind and professional. Breakfast and coffee were delicious. Some outdoor maintenance needs some improvement. I walked to the parking lot to my car and back a few times and noticed trash items either dropped or blown in from elsewhere. Saw outdoor maintenance blowing leaves and trash and left lots of trash behind. Just looks and feels cheap when the grounds aren’t better maintained in an otherwise attractive hotel.

Great hotel in a great location. Restaurants and stores nearby and easy driving distance to Newport, Laguna & Huntington beaches. Great bay view with walking/biking trail across the street. Will stay again!

Nice hotel from the facilities to the staff, but the prices are very high for anything at the restaurant and convenience store or to park a vehicle. We were in town for a conference at UCI which was reasonably accessible. The location next to the back bay trails was really great from a recreational perspective, but there's very few amenities within walking distance (a coffee shop is nearby, otherwise you're walking across the highway to a few restaurants or 1.5 miles to the nearest grocery store).

Very close to Santa Ana airport and surrounding areas. Easy to get in and out of. However $45 a day to park.

Parking too expensive

I like the pool area and the lobby is nice and comfortable ! They have drinking water and cups in case you want some water The bathrooms next to Starbucks by the lobby are not flushing! I woke up at 7:00 am went downstairs to Starbucks to get coffee and then to use the woman bathroom and I could not make the toilet flushed so I took a small tool from my purse and press the button really hard so after putting a lot of pressure I was able to flush the toilet ! I was so embarrassed because I am a private person and didn’t want people to see it ! Then last night I check in with my boyfriend at 8:30 pm and we decided to go down to the pool and the room was freezing we turn on the heater and it took around 30 minutes to unfreeze so it ruin my night because we were trying to have a fun sexy night but it was impossible we couldn’t so I didn’t sleep the whole night freezing and unable to enjoy my boyfriend! What a nightmare that was !

The hotel costs around $450 a night, which is far from cheap, but the facilities feel outdated and the property is showing its age. The room and common areas could definitely use some renovation. Even the hot water was only warm, not truly hot. On top of that, parking is not included and costs extra. For the price they’re charging, I expected a much better experience. Overall, the value simply isn’t there.

We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Our large family was in town for a college graduation and we all stayed with you. Wonderful place to meet, visit and enjoy! Rooms were spacious, very clean and very comfortable!! Breakfast was outstanding, parking was close and safe and staff met our every need!!

Food at the restaurant was great (no free continental breakfast like I thought). Nice gym; nice that I was close to the trails. We had a big group that utilized the lobby often.;)

Extremely disappointed with my experience. I paid $538.50 for a room that was advertised to accommodate my family of five, only to arrive and be told the room I reserved was unavailable. The replacement room had fewer sleeping accommodations and a stained pullout sofa bed that my children were uncomfortable using. After spending hours trying to resolve the issue, I was forced to check out the same night and find another hotel. The lack of communication, failure to honor the reservation, and condition of the room made for a very frustrating experience.

The check-in and waitstaff were very kind and accomodating. The room was exactly as described. There was not a breakfast buffet as described on Expedia and there was not a pool bar as described on the website which was disappointing. Lastly, the photos do a great job of hiding how close to the freeway the pool is. I wish I would have looked at an overhead map before booking.
