The Jewel Hotel, New York

The professional courteous staff, location, and amenities were better than expected. We plan to stay here again.

I was right next door to the staff break room and there was people in and out all night long. Also, bed was not the most comfortable. I honestly think if I wasn’t in that location I’d have 5 of 5. It was great location, great price, and great place.

Great location, nice and helpful staff. Second floor was very, very warm. Used the restrooms on that floor a few times. We would stay at The Jewel again!

Great Location, room size and commodities are great

Cute hotel and steps away from Radio City Music Hall. Construction at the bank next door was quite annoying. Hotel was unaware of the construction schedule but staff were willing to move me to another room.

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. It’s our fifth time in this hotel and we will definitely be back. Excellent overall experience!

Very efficient staff! Great location, we were across from Rockefeller center and a block from the bus and 3 blocks from Lexington station.

1. Excellent location 2. Large, comfortable, and well-appointed rooms. 3. Top-notch staff. Exceptionally helpful and well-mannered. 4. Very fast elevator service. It's a pet peeve of mine that in some hotels (including some in NYC) I have to spend much of my vacation waiting for an elevator. This did not happen at the Jewel; elevators always arrived instantly. Cons: 1. The AC was not working in most of the common areas (2nd floor lounge, exercise room, and elevators). I don't know if this was a temporary thing or if they just don't have AC in these areas. I had to change into my dinner clothes in the public restroom near the lounge (explained below) and it was so scorching hot that I was covered in sweat by the time I finished my change. The fitness center was uncomfortably hot as well, which made it difficult to do as much exercise as I would've liked. 2. There were no rooms available before 3 PM, which may or may not have been their fault. In most hotels, housekeeping starts cleaning out rooms at 9 AM and new rooms become available as soon as they are cleaned out (typically, around 11 AM). Maybe there were few people checking out that day and none of them left early. I don't know if the hotel is to blame, but it's something that other travelers may want to keep in mind.

Very good

Centrally located, close to the subway and buses. Directly across the street from Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller center so plenty of options for food and entertainment. Also Times Square is a short 10-15 minute walk. Hotel was very quiet, couldn't even hear our next door neighbors. Clean room and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Room was spacious enough for two people. Free coffee and water! Next door is a Walgreens if you need something quick. Staff is very friendly and professional. Would stay here again. We had a slow draining sink but that's because the stopper was broken. We just fixed it ourselves.

Loved it! Johanna I believe is the property manager and she's great. I had no issues and plan to return real soon. Perfect location.

Very good location, quiet rooms, very nice staff. A bit small but expected in NYC.

Stay was good until morning checkout. Fire alarm went off. Could not get anyone to answer phone at front desk. Guests were walking around floor trying to assess citation our self’s. Felt like it took too long for any communication from hotel staff. They finally made an announcement “they were investigating source to stand by”. All was finally ok.

Location was great. Modern, clean comfortable room.
