Amazing experience, great location, wonderful staff.

My husband and I had a great stay at the Chemist Club in June 2026. The hotel was in a fantastic location really close to Grand Central Station and was very much a modern, boutique hotel. The recent renovation has been done well and it was great to see that our room looked exactly like the photos on the website. Our room (Classic, King) was a good size, clean and comfortable - the bed and air con were probably the two best things. We made use of the gym during our stay which was reasonably equipped, clean and a good size for four to five guests to use at the same time. We really appreciated the towels and chilled water that was always stocked in the gym for guests to use. The staff were polite and helpful, the hotel was clean and well decorated throughout and it was great to have two quick, well functioning and nicely decorated lifts in a relatively small hotel. The only thing that would have made our stay even better would have been a clearer explanation on check in on what was included in the additional $40 we were charged each day as it wasn't entirely clear and we received mixed messaging from staff. As a result, we weren't clear on whether this was for WiFI, use of the coffee machine in the room and water (as well as items in the mini bar or not) and therefore we didn't use items in the mini bar that we potentially could have. Other than that, we had a great stay and would recommend The Chemist Club if you're looking for nice boutique hotels near Grand Central station.

The Chemist Club is just a wonderful NYC hotel. We live in the nyc suburbs and had a planned event that went late in the night so we decided to reserve a hotel. Nice sized rooms, super friendly and helpful staff. I left some jewelry in the room and they held it for me until I could return to pick it up. Highly recommend!

Excellent small hotel near Grand Central. Comfortable well lit rooms with good thermostat controls. Bathroom well designed with good shelving. Pleasant gym with decent rowing machine. Lots of breakfast choices nearby. Staff were helpful and knowledgable. Would stay there again.

The rooms are large and very comfortable. We had the best night's sleep of our trip.

Housekeeping should really get to the rooms earlier than the late afternoon and the lack of a smart or internet enabled TV is very odd given the recent total refurbishment. And while it's nice to have a Nespresso machine it would be helpful if it wasn't so difficult to get (non-decaffeinated) pods for it and if more than two pods were available (even if they had to be paid for).

The rooms in this hotel are amazing...very nicely lit, very quiet considering we are in NYC. The room offers everything you might need. I did not have breakfast in the hotel, nor did I have dinner. I was happy to be in touch with the concierge on whatsapp the day of my arrival who made plenty of very nice suggestions regarding food options. I have to say that at first I was staying in room 404 which was lovely until I was trying to fall asleep and noticed how bright the room was. I discovered when opening the curtains to try to see from where this much light was coming from at midnight...the building across from the hotel, and at the level of my room, right across from it...the whole floor had all the lights on fully blasting, with no one at that level bc it was under renovation of some sort. I had to change rooms! The beds can be a bit more firm!

Proximity to Grand Central Station cannot be beat. Exceptionally quiet rooms. would like the toilet to be separate from the rest of the bathroom

The room is quite spacious by NYC standards, they provide bottled water every day, snacks, two robes and slippers - this is something that isn't typically provided by NYC hotels, whereas it's standard in Asia. It's quiet and you cannot hear the noise from outside as the windows are double or triple glazed. It's a boutique hotel so you cannot expect state of the art amenities. They don't have a hotel bar or anything but they do have a very good steakhouse attached to the hotel.
