The property is outstanding. The rooms are beautiful, the location is unbeatable, and the front desk staff is genuinely welcoming. Rob and Louis, the night managers, are exceptional and deserve recognition for their professionalism and willingness to help. Unfortunately, the guest services team was well below average. The women answering the phone were sarcastic and rude—to the point that this is the first hotel review I’ve written in years. I chose this hotel in part because of its valet parking. I had to drive my son to an early morning college football tryout, so timing was critical. I repeatedly asked how long it took to retrieve a car. When I asked if it had ever taken longer than 30 minutes, the response became dismissive, and I was assured that 30 minutes was the absolute maximum. To be safe, I requested my car 45 minutes in advance. It still took over an hour. The only reason I got it in time was because Louis literally ran three blocks to retrieve it himself. We arrived late to the tryout, creating an unnecessary problem with the coaches. My son might even have a problem because of this. When I returned, the lady manager who’s name simply don’t recall blamed the third-party valet company. There was no apology, no accountability, and no acknowledgment of the rude attitude of the guest services staff. Hyatt should recognize employees like Rob and Louis, who truly understand hospitality, and address the poor attitude of the guest services team. June 27 2026

Staff make this place, rooms are lovely even if the shower is a bit tricky to get your head around at first. Overall lovely hotel in a great location.

We arrived for a night between hotels and the location is great! On the New York Library, our room was large, luxurious and clean. The room had a high ceiling that gave it a luxurious feel! We arrived for our honeymoon and the excellent staff spoiled us with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries! Luxurious shower Windows can be opened. For the short time we were there - I couldn't find anything I didn't like.

An understated luxury in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Great location with easy access to shopping, restaurants and public transportation. I live the high ceilings and spacious well insulated rooms, not to mention the open and modern shower space. I was pleasantly surprised by the email from the manager of the house cleaning, a sign of its commitment to customer satisfaction.

It’s always great!

Perfect location in Manhattan. Our room was on the 3rd floor and strangely we had to take two elevators-change to a different elevator located on the 2nd floor after walking down the long narrow hall way. It was a bit exhausting. We felt unwelcome.

One of the best stays I’ve had in NYC

Exceptional

Garbage sitting outside our door (not ours) for the day. Check-in: room ready late. Check out: valet over 1 h wait for the car. Not the way to start or end a trip.

Location and modern feel The glass wardrobe area was a little clunky to navigate at times
-
Excellent location, right on 5th Avenue. Broadway, Grand Station and major sites are all a short walk away.

Fantastic view, fantastic location, best connectivity to the library, perfect for shopping, and great for relaxing since it’s right in front of Bryant Park. I highly recommend this friendly and clean hotel.
