Holiday Inn & Suites Orlando SW - Celebration Area by IHG

My Expedia booking did not include a resort fee but I was charged $85 for the 3 nights when I checked in and the hotel refused to honor my email confirmation as well as the FTC rule about transparent pricing requiring all fees to be present in the price at the time of booking. They would not let me check in unless I paid. I reached out to holiday inn guest services and they also refused to help and told me to talk to Expedia even though I paid at check in and not Expedia so Expedia in this case is kind of powerless. Frustrating and despicable after a long drive not to mention not everyone can afford surprise charges, hence the change from the FTC. Large hotel and they had people stacked in rooms all near each other rather than spacing out so you get no peace and quiet.

Breakfast okay. Room clean, comfortable beds.Close to so many activities and restaurants. All rooms had a balcony. Pool and fitness center clean. There is a $28.50 a day resort fee that I was not made aware of when booking. That was not good. As mentioned above, all other stuff good.

Enjoyed our stay here. For starters, the price was GREAT, 10/10. Location is PRIME!, 10/10. It literally sits in the middle of EVERYTHING (Old Town, LOTS of eateries - including World Food Trucks, shops, grocery stores, etc., etc., etc.). Also, Magic KIngdom, Epcot, Blizzard Beach and other Disney theme parks were only about a 10, maybe 15 minute drive. The outlets and Millenial Mall in Orlando are about 40-45 minutes away, depending on traffic. Check-in was fast & smooth, 10/10. Kudos to the front desk attendant. He, along with the other staff, provided great CS, 10/10. Cleanliness, 9/10. We had to change rooms because the original room we were given was not ready for guests. Again, the desk attendant took good care of us expeditiously and with great customer care. Breakfast, for me, 0/10, do not recommend. Family-friendly, 10/10. My only major complaint is it's a smoke free hotel, but clearly smoking was being done inside the hotel. I know you can't control everything, but maybe walk the floors, get on the elevator and assess. The smell was very strong in the elevators, on the floor of the 1st room we had and it came through to our room in the 2nd room we had, especially early in the mornings. I did not like that. The hotel is dated, but the upkeep is very good. For the amount paid, it was luxury. In total, 7/10. Not a bad stay, just hated the smell of smoke inside the hotel. Other than that, I would definitely recommend.

Main thing I noticed was that the AC was barely hanging on throughout the hotel. My bathroom mirror had feces on the edge of it and the shower had noticeable mold in the crevices. One of the pillows on the bed also had a few brown dotted stains on it. I also had an incident where the panel of my key card scanner was removed and then while in the room, a maintenance person opened the door without knocking. There was also a storm that rolled through which caused one of the elevators to essentially become a mobile shower. The hotel itself was pleasantly quiet and the amenities such as breakfast were quite nice. The staff were helpful and kind.

Plenty of Restaurant and walking location are near by

The staff was wonderful. I get migraines from the smell of marijuana. I was first given a room on the 7th floor. When contacted regarding my room, I let them know about the smell. They immediately gave me a room on a different floor

My favorite place to stay across from old town and the stripe to shop and dine.

Clean property, close to everything

Very good breakfast which was included in our rate. Bacon, eggs, potatoes, pastries , fruit, yogurt, cereal, sausage. The pool was very clean. Our room was very clean and comfortable

What I did not like about the property was the mattresses. They seemed old and uncomfortable. I did not get good nights sleep because of the uncomfortable mattress. Also, the hotel seemed old and need to be updated the price was expensive too.

Everything was Great!

Room was clean, staff was very attentive, and offered valuable advice on the surrounding amenities / restaurants, Breakfast buffet was awesome.

Connecting rooms are a plus. The pool was nice and clean. The breakfast Buffet was excellent.

It was magnificent our stay at the hotel together with my son, and my wife. All of the hotel’s staff were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was incredibly delicious and the kitchen’s staff were super friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed everything the restaurant had for all the guests. I highly recommend this hotel for future visitors.

Pleasantly surprised at how good of a stay this was for the price! The room was clean, beds were comfortable, they offered coffee maker, and refidgerator on the lowest cost room! Will 100% stay here again.

I have mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. Initially, the property and our room seemed decent and relatively clean. However, things took a turn when I found a small cockroach in one of the drawers. We decided to stay anyway, which turned out to be a mistake. The next morning, my girlfriend found a large, dead bed bug on the bed. To the hotel's credit, the staff was incredibly nice and immediately moved us to a new room, which was clean and pest-free. That said, having to pack up and change rooms so suddenly was a major inconvenience. I would highly recommend that management implements more thorough room inspections and considers some minor renovations, as the property is starting to look a bit dated.
