La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Birmingham Homewood

I think this is a case of you get what you pay for. If you want to spend under $100 a night for a hotel room, you get what you pay for. They really need to work on overall cleanliness. I did not feel clean in the room, floors still had dirt, sheets did not feel very clean and there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. The hotel also had a weird smell that I could not get out of my nose for a day and a half after I left. I only had to stay from late at night to early in the morning, so I thought going cheap was the way to go but honestly I would have rather spent another $50 to feel clean. I think they really need to work on the remodel as many things were only done as a brandade to an old location. I think the overall cleaning needs to be done better. Again, you get what you pay for.

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is our room was big. We stayed 3 nights, in town for a softball tournament. Our first night the air conditioner started making horrible noise that kept me up all night. The next morning our son spilled juice(a lot) in our bed. As we were leaving for the day, we stopped by the front desk and asked for housekeeping to change the bed and maintenance to look at the air. When we returned 8 or so hours later, neither had been done. We ended up asking for linens to change our own bed and left the tv on to drown out some of the air noise to try to sleep. Jump ahead to check out day and the room never got touched by housekeeping and the air still makes terrible noise. The breakfast was not good if there was actually food down there. They do have cereal, but whether or not they had milk was hit or miss. Yes, we asked, but the employee didn’t understand English so she didn’t know what we were asking for. Our room was mostly clean on arrival, except the bathtub was gross with black spots in it. We cleaned it ourselves. Take your own pillow! There are three on each bed, but they’re tiny, smaller than a typical “standard” size pillow. The structure of the rooms and hotel have great potential, but they desperately need new management and employees.

Stayed twice. Half way to and from Panama Beach. Clean and very well run hotel. Nice pool, courtyard and breakfast with amenities close by. Had our service animal and there’s a large green space to walk. Would stay again.

Can’t beat the price. Breakfast was fine but ran out of eggs early and never replaced.

This hotel is a little outdated, the elevator is old and a little scary. My room was located on pool side and you could hear the noise from the pool area clearly. The one night s baseball team decided to have a meeting in the patio area by the pool late at night which kept me up

No funcionaba el ascensor , estaba bien sucias las escaleras, el desayuno era solo huevo y salchicha , no había variedad de desayuno , la verdad no me gustó mucho l hotel en general, ya me ha ido hospedado a otros y York bien pero este no me gustó

The staff was courteous, and the property was clean, but I was disappointed that housekeeping was not included during my five-night stay. Even after requesting service, my room was still not cleaned the next day. More consistent servicing should be provided for longer stays.

No complaints it was a quick stay over and all was goid

Breakfast was adequate, property seems to be well kept. No vent fan in bathroom, and the fire alarm in the hallway flashed the entire length of our stay. Check-in was smooth and easy, location was very convenient to downtown.

It’s comfortable and quiet Shower was a little slow nothing else

This was the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. There was hair and dirt in one of the beds. The entire place smelled like some kind of incense was put everywhere to cover the smells. The floors were so nasty. There was another person complaining about a large set of dirty footprints on their bed. They ask to switch rooms and the lady at the counter only offered them a new set of sheets to change themselves. I couldn’t even eat breakfast because it was so dirty.

This La Quinta felt clean and comfortable and the breakfast bar was satisfying.

It was not what we expected, the room had a musty odor. And we decided to leave early

Everything! Very very clean and the surrounding area was exceptionally clean. Multiple options within walking distance for food. No sidewalks.
