Baymont by Wyndham Groton/Mystic

We did not stay at this property. It was too unsafe. It only had one elevator and one floor that wasn’t being renovated. The rooms and furniture looked terrible and all of the staircases were closed a very unsafe hotel right now until they get it fully remodeled no one should stay there we canceled our reservation with them and went to a hotel down the street and I guess Booking.com kept the money that I paid

Well when I booked there was no indication that the place was under renovations. Said breakfast was included in the stay. Got there and the place was a disaster. Tarps and renovations everywhere. The room on the first floor was ok. Next morning got up to leave. Went to the elevator and it did not work. Kept missing the first floor where we stayed. So that being said we had to go outside and walk around the building to get to the office. As there was snow on the ground I slipped on ice and fell on my right side. It took the wind out of me. As my boyfriend had to pick me up. Got to the office and told them the elevator did not work and as I had to walk outside I fell and nothing was sanded. They didn’t even offer me an accident report. As I asked if breakfast was being served the attendant handed me two brown paper bags with a granola bar, small container of juice and a fruit cup. They said they were changing to the Marriot. Good luck with that. My new years was ruined as the pain in my neck and back was awful. I am 67 and have had back surgery. This place doesn’t even deserve one star. Madeline L

The room is was comfortable and clean. Constant construction. No gym facilities as advertised, no pool or hot tub as advertised. Elevator didn’t work. No reduced room charge for amenities not available as advertised.

The pictures are from when it was under a previous owner. The elevators dont work properly, no hot continental breakfast, no main entrance, hot tub out of order, horrible craftsmanship in the room we had. The sign was out and there is no main entrance. This listing is very misleading

Place was under construction looked abandoned. Smelled of weed and smoke. Elevator unsafe plastic everywhere cold. Rooms dirty ripped shower curtains.

I felt like I would be murdered. The place was filthy and nothing worked. I would have left but I really only needed a bed to sleep in. My kids wanted to swim in the pool but it was gross and not open. There were open tuna cans in the drink machine. There was no breakfast and it was just a disgusting place. Never stay here!

People sleeping in the lobby. Smoking in the door way. Place smells like must and weed. Staff was nice but the place needs a complete facelift

They shouldn’t rent rooms when the place is under construction terrible no TV not happy never again not happy with booking.com. Either they have them on their website and the places like a shit hole. They should’ve paid me to stay there.

Hotel was not in an ideal spot for children. Elevator smelled like weed and it just wasn’t very welcoming. Granted it is going through construction. We checked in and then left the same day.

Disappointing

The building is a full-on construction zone and should not be taking bookings. Construction dust in hallways. Elevator barely functioning. No pool, dining… Cracked lighting plates and peeling wallpaper…. Not ready for prime time Wyndham designation.

Two floors of missing windows birds flying in and out of the building construction equipment all around building no front lobby. We had to go around the building to the back door where a makeshift front desk made from a plastic folding table. Too late to make new arrangements we were exhausted slept in clothes on top of bedding. Plastic tub cracked on the bottom don’t know where water was leaking to when I was showering? My son’s room had a sink that was falling away from the wall. I didn’t see the extent of the horrendous conditions of the exterior until morning. That’s when I noticed the windows missing and that only what looked like 1/2 of second floor of the hotel was being used for guests and the rest of the hotel was under extensive construction that was obviously still at the demolition portion. No lights were visible from the front when we arrived even their sign was not lit. Expedia has to do better than this. This hotel should not have even been open for guests in this condition it’s shameful. If Expedia is going to promote these locations without ensuring that the hotel is safe and in good condition before not after even one complaint then I’m completely done with using your site. At the very least an apology is due.

The bed was comfortable. There was no cable tv, no ice machines, pool and hot tub closed, toilet seat loose, never saw anyone at the registration desk and the entire hotel was under construction. None of this was noted on the website. Charged full price even though many amenities weren’t available.
