Holiday Inn Express & Suites Galveston West-Seawall

The flooring is damaged, there was a fan in the hallway on the floor, the wifi was down, and the light fixtures had some kind rusty wear and tear on it. There was no hand soap in the bathroom. The night clerk was very hospitable. I did get a message the weekend before saying they had wifi problems but hoped it would be restored by the time I arrived. It wasn’t.

View to the beach and staff was great

Room was very clean, great view of the ocean. Staff were always very friendly. Breakfast tasted well above average for a free breakfast. It’s right across from the pier which was great for some fishing and there’s a gas station nearby. I’ll be booking this hotel again next time we come

Had booked an ocean view suite days before arrival but when arrived was told they were sold out, moved me to a single king room but at the same price, had no time to rebook anywhere else. Stay was ok and room was comfortable. Not sure if this was an Expedia fault or Holiday Inn as far as room type not being available after confirmed booking.

The staff were all polite and helpful. The location was very close to the beach, but parking was inconvenient. The breakfast was one of the best in selection and quality that I have ever had. The elevators were scary, though. They seemed like they would break at any second, so my young daughter was frightened. Also, the smoking area was next to the pool, so it was not pleasant smelling cigarette smoke while relaxing by the pool. Overall, we had a great time and we would recommend.

Good place to stay

Overall, our stay was average. The room was very spacious and would be great for longer stays, which we really appreciated. We did have a balcony, but we were disappointed that it was not a beachfront balcony as we had expected. The Wi-Fi was also unreliable and could definitely be improved. Despite those issues, the room itself was comfortable and roomy, making it a good option for extended stays.

Clean room, beautiful view, great breakfast and helpful staff.

I gave it 3 stars because of a couple things. One the power kept going in and out on my first night and then went out completely till the next day. There were also bugs in my room as well and I'm not sure how they kept getting in there when I kept the back door closed at all times waking up with bites all over my body. I slept good even with how loud other people were running up and down the hallway.

Exceptional

Staff was great, friendly & helpful, room was clean and nice. Loved the balcony from the room. 4th floor was under construction, so that’s always a bummer. And the elevators were kind of worrisome with how much they shook. Overall great trip. Would definitely look into staying there again once construction is finished.

Everything was great, my family and I felt welcomed.

Extensive breakfast and the location are the best things about this hotel. I also liked the covered parking in the back of the hotel. Comfortable beds. I don't know if it can be improved upon but the hotel made continuous efforts to remove the musty sea smell in the public areas of the hotel. There was always staff around cleaning. Our room smelled real nice and clean when we arrived but eventually, the musty smell seeped through. I was also disappointed that there was no view of the ocean from our balcony. What little view we may have had was obscured by an additional structure on the hotel blocking the side view.

Our room was very nice with a comfortable bed and it was nice and clean. I liked having a balcony overlooking the beach and it was very peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was excellent with bacon, sausage, etc... The only downside was poor water pressure in the shower and a little problem with the elevator feeling shaky.

Property seemed very dated. Huge fans were going in the lobby to dry something out.
