The room was good sized and the bed and pillows were nice. The breakfast was a disappointment. Several items were out by the time we got there and there was another 45 minutes left. I overheard another guest asking about it and the staff said, there are pancakes….Not what you want to hear when you are there during the advertised breakfast time.

We’ve stayed here before and have always had a pleasant stay. The beds are so comfortable and the food for breakfast is delicious.

Need to update the beds. from the extensive use the beds have big dips on two sides and a bump in the middle.

The rooms were cozy and comfortable, with great shower water pressure and a small refrigerator that came in handy during our stay. I also appreciated being able to grab a cup of coffee on our way out each morning, though I would have preferred it a little stronger. One unexpected highlight was the restaurant and pub on site. After spending the day exploring Galena, it was so nice to come back, relax, and enjoy the live music. The band was great, the atmosphere was lively, and the place was absolutely hopping. It added a lot to the overall experience and gave us something fun to do without having to go back out. The only downside was that I couldn’t seem to keep the air conditioning running consistently. It may have been user error, but it was a bit frustrating at times. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose Irish Cottage Inn & Suites again on a future visit to Galena.

Galena is a charming town with much history. We really enjoyed our visit and the Irish Cottage added so much to our stay. Only one very minor detail that I noticed was that only two jets seemed to be working in the whirlpool by the swimming pool. This was not an issue for me, because I happened to be the only one in the whirlpool at the time, but if there had been one or two other people, it may have been a problem.

The ambience made you feel like you were in Ireland. The reproduction artwork and all the signage and maps were very authentic. Each room had a coat of arms on the front door and an explanation with more artwork inside the room. The rooms were extremely quiet. There was a library that was magnificent with dark rich woodwork and many authors. A lot of thought and detail went into the building and the grounds.A real gem for that area. My wife and I loved it.

The Inn was mostly delightful with helpful and friendly staff. However, a few changes would help it to stand out. I was perplexed about the hugeness of the chairs in the sitting areas and in the room itself. Admittedly I’m shorter than average but even my taller than average spouse found them too big to be comfortable. I heard several other women complain of the same thing. They offered scones for breakfast but if you weren’t in line immediately when breakfast was served you missed out as they were never replaced. Same was true for the afternoon tea. Lastly, the bed was so soft that I awoke with a backache both mornings.

Rooms were clean, bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast was great especially the Irish Oatmeal. I had a Rueben that was fantastic!

The grounds and setting are beautiful. The room was clean however the air conditioning was loud. Other than that, all good things to say. I would stay there again because of the great value for such a wonderful setting so close to town.

Loved the location vs price. Did not like the smokers area immediately out the front door / lobby. Hold your breath.

Everything was great, including the breakfast. The hotel provides shuttle service to get to Main St. I look forwarding to staying again upon a return trip to Galena.

We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which was a buffet service set up in the restaurant. We definitely enjoyed our dinner at Frank O'Dowd's, and we understand there is live music on the weekends. There is a cute private walking path behind the hotel, called the Fairy Ring. It's a loop trail that's less than 1 mile. I recommend wearing hiking shoes/boots as there are elevation changes and it is very uneven with roots and branches. It is not well marked, but a lot of fun, especially in the early evening, when you can imagine that the Fairies are out. We loved that coffee was available in the lobby 24/7. They serve tea in the lobby every day at 4:00 p.m.

Appearance was very nice. Inside and out. Ran out of some food b4 breakfast was done. Would stay again. Music nice in bar.

performed live music in the evenings is loud for my taste. The little indoor pool, very small workout room, & a woodland hiking loop behind the hotel offer many opportunities for exercise, as does the 15 minute walk to downtown Galena and its many attractions.
