Grate location right off the mag mile in Chicago. Very cool historic hotel. Beds very comfortable, And it was quite clean. But definitely a historic hotel, so some finishes were old and could stand to be refreshed. The towels were a little bit subpar (thin and small) for such a nice hotel. Breakfast was minimal. I would definitely stay here again.

Clean room

This was the perfect hotel, from the staff — to the location — to the room. Honestly have no complaints. This was my first trip to Chicago and picking this hotel worked out great. I was in walking distance of many activities I did and close to many train stations. The room was very clean upon arrival and the a/c worked a little too good (had to turn it off at times). Whenever I needed something the staff helped immediately. If you’re thinking about this hotel, book asap

Everything was excellent and valet across the street was very easy. Front desk was especially helpful!

A clean room with acceptable amenities. I would have liked more light in the room. At times it was pretty dark but there were several lamps around. The bathroom had some peeling and damp in the corner where the bath was. The breakfast was pretty sparse and the pastries were stale which was a bit disappointing so better to look for food elsewhere. All in all it did the job. The staff were kind and attentive and would deliver what you needed to the room quickly. If you’re looking for luxury maybe look elsewhere. If you booked a hotel last minute and need something relatively clean and comfortable this will do.

Great location.

This is one of the Real Classic Hotels. It is a bit dated, yet; all of my needs are met, with awesome beds, crisp clean linens, luggage racks, a safe for your valuables, along with marble bathrooms, really Hot Showers! The staff is always polite and helpful. The rooms are spacious and views can be awesome!😎 As a 25 year Chicagoan, whom no longer lives here, I Love 💕 this place… 👏 👏 👏

Excellent location, comfortable rooms, and very reasonably priced.
-
Good value for being in the city but the property is a historic building so expectations should be aligned with that.

Is really convenient close to everywhere where you need to go

Nice location

Breakfast was just awful - an embarrassment to the hotel. All plastic/takeout cups, plates and cutlery. Some days there were hot items available and on others just toast and cold pastries. When asked how to heat a croque monsieur sandwich we were told to put it on top of the toaster and push down both buttons.

Shower was barely lukewarm, called the staff and the person came up and said I turned the knob to the wrong direction, which is not the case. After I showed them how cold the water is even when I turn it all the way, the guy said it was warm and nothing was wrong?? The heater was also not strong and the bathroom was especially cold, which made it worse.

The staff were great, however we experienced many issues. We would go to breakfast half an hour before it was over and there would only be toast and cereal left. Our AC was broken in two rooms and then our toilet broke. The bed comforter on our bed was also ripped. Staff were understanding and resolved the issues quickly, but it was frustrating. We also went to the bar at 9 P.M and were told we could not get a mixed drink and that he could only serve beer or wine even though they provided a drink menu. Apparently he was only a server and not a bar tender which was not great.
