English Inn of Charlottesville

We found the room and the entire property to be very aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast buffet was hot and tasted wonderful. The breakfast area was clean. The coffee was great. The only negative (and we really didn’t pay it much attention at all) was that the room air conditioner was loud. But it functioned perfectly and the room stayed cool. Which was far more important than the sound of it. The room was spacious. The water pressure was better than anywhere I have ever stayed. If we are back in Charlottesville we will be staying here again.

They did not have hair dryer and I forgot mine. Otherwise perfect quiet stay. Will be back

Not what I would consider a family friendly hotel. Lots of male lodgers and smoking outside the room doors. I was not completely comfortable as a female with my husband. Accommodations were clean but severely outdated which made them look dinghy. Cooling system could certainly use an update. Staff was nice and provided us with extra blanket and pillow when requested.

The unique architecture of the bldg inside & outside. Reminded us of when we lived in Germany.

Everything is always so clean and the staff are as professional and friendly as possible. My fifth stay there and it didn’t disappoint whatsoever.

Scott was great, but other staff were not helpful or service-oriented except the man at breakfast.

Great location close to town. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the indoor pool.

The hotel staff were super nice. While the place could use some updating and nicer colors and designs , it was super comfortable and the breakfasts were sumptuous!

The assistant manager that we talked to a couple of times (and checked us in) was very helpful in offering suggestions on activities/dining. The room was spacious and a good value. Everything was clean. The afternoon tea and cookies was nice. They have a large pool available; however, the advertising stated it was heated, but it felt pretty cold. Overall, good value and would stay again!

Had stayed here several years ago, was ok then, but even better now. Very nice property, staff were awesome, especially Scott!! Will definitely stay here again!!
