Holiday Inn Charlottesville-Univ Area by IHG

The front desk staff made check in a breeze. The staff overall has been amazing but my fav is the one with the dye patch. (don’t laugh😂) The hotel is within close proximity to my job. The room was clean and well maintained, so much so that I rebooked in house till I find a furnished apartment. Would stay again.

Tub obviously had not been used in a while and was dusty/dirty.

The fitness room is dirty and hot, The rooms are ok in a 1970’s sort of way!

I paid for breakfast, but there wasn't any.

Our first impression was a giant pile of dirty linens/laundry directly outside of our room door. The inside of the room was pretty clean, as long as you don’t count the stained towels in the bathroom. The room was hot and the thermostat could not be turned down past 69°. It took several hours for it to cool down to 69° & we arrived after dark, when the outside temperature had already dropped. My fiancé and I are both hot sleepers, so this made for an uncomfortable night. The beds are extra firm and the pillows extra, extra soft. We attempted to get an additional pillow before bed, but the front desk said that housekeeping was locked up for the night. They did bring us fresh towels and 1 pillow the next day. Our dirty towels were added to that pile outside the door. The entire 6th floor smelled very strongly of weed. You could even smell it in our room. Breakfast: DO NOT PAY! Expedia is charging the extra amount, unbeknownst to the hotel. THERE IS NO RESTAURANT ONSITE. Only on the weekends they have a buffet style breakfast. The front desk attendant jumped in front of me for a waffle & used the last of the batter. It was never replaced while we were in the dining room. On the weekdays, a tray of frozen/prepackaged foods are in the lobby. Overall, the stay was not horrendous, but didn’t meet our IHG standards.

My issue is the return monies for incidentals for room damages Ect…. They claim 3-7 business Days and I’m on Day 11 … When the rooms are inspected and it checks out Well, the money should be immediately reimbursed to the guess ..

Low drama, exactly what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn. Fanciest place in the world? Not at all. But it's spotlessly clean, the beds are big and comfy, the rooms are properly AC-equipped, and everyone is friendly. Even the coffee wasn't too bad.

I got this hotel because it has a pool. My 6 year old was excited about swimming. The pool had a sign it was closed for maintenance

This was probably a nice hotel at some point. When I stayed it was just okay

my flight was delayed and cancelled for one day I get to charlitted the same day so flew the 16 and left Charlottesville the same day I don’t have no clue how Inside Holiday inn looks like I should have credit for it I paid insurance for my flight and i didn’t get any incentive I went to the airport on Friday i day and United sent me home and booked me a flight for saturday morning

Dirty, old and stuffy. Not like the pictures or other reviews stated. Badly asvertised

The staff was absolutely amazing!! Very friendly and helpful!! Everyone was so helpful. Even the guy that came in to clean up in the morning went back and got some coffee creamer for us. He didn't tell someone else he just did it!! Very impressed by the staff!! The only thing we didn't like has nothing to do with the business.
