Motel 6 Carlsbad, CA Beach

This had to been the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. First day there was a cockroach in the refrigerator. The floors were black I wore socks they were completely black on the bottom. Let the staff know about the roach in the refrigerator, they told me it’s been a problem and that they like area with water. I ask for a refund and they told me I would have to go through Expedia. We stayed the second day which would be our last. My wife picks up her suitcase and there was about a 3 inch roach one the the biggest one I gave seen that was under her suit case. We should have left the first night. We ended up booking another hotel. Had to through away all fruit and open groceries which was about 100 dollars. I never write reviews and I have stayed at many budget hotels and understand that price will reflect, this was just horrible.

You get what you pay for

Room reeked of cigarettes, room was disgusting. Other people’s hair still in the bed and on the ground in the bathroom. Just a terrible experience. I had to leave and check into another hotel due to the smell in the room

The hotel get a zero. It was dusty, dirty, my room had old food particles next to the bed. Dust everywhere and I asked for a nonsmoking room and my room smelled like smoke. I kept it because I was exhausted. The area around the parking lot had sketchy people. The toilet had black mold around the seats. I won’t go back. Very gross

Close to everything , not to far from the beach. Daisy is a very sweet wonderful lady. You get what you pay for. If you are looking for fancy rooms this is not the place for you. If your looking for convenience and decent price this is a good option. Tvs had cable , beds were comfy. Would stay here again

The room had a Vinyl covered bench covered with scratch marks mist likely from a pet. The room smelled like a pet. The cover of thermostat off with exposed wires. Floor dirty and stepped on a large bug. Holes in dark out curtain. Would never recommend to anyone.

Winderful city. Nice to travel

It was a terrible stay. Air conditioner shutting off shut off in the middle of the night. It was hot and humid. Cockroaches ants spiders in the room. I have pictures not making this up. Room floor was so dirty it didn’t look like they even cleaned it before we checked in talked to management and they were not helpful. Would not transfer us to another room. Said they didn’t have any but when I was in the office to report cockroaches their was another guest upgrading there room to another room. I will never stay there again. I am filing a complaint with corporate

Property staff were amazing

Staff was very friendly, helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

Homeless wandering the property and very noisy at night

The good: Location. It was a great location, easy in and easy out, with a lot of stuff around it for food, groceries, entertainment, etc. The staff was incredibly nice, polite, and helpful. Even when I had an issue, they were quick to respond and find a solution. The bed was a little softer than I like, but it was plenty comfortable. The water temperature and water pressure were both very good. Neutral: They provided one of the small bars of soap. No other toiletries were provided. They did have an ice bucket and plastic wrapped cups which were nice. The bad: Bugs. When I checked in, I had no major expectations. Budget hotel. However, I put food in the microwave (which I paid extra to have a fridge and microwave). When I opened the door of the microwave to get the food out, a bug crawled out from under it. I killed it and moved on. In the middle of the night, bugs! I notified the desk in the morning and they immediately moved me and allowed me to check the room first. Looked much better. Unfortunately, I no longer had a microwave which I had paid extra for. In the middle of the night, more bugs. The staff was nice and all. However, the bug situation is a definite NEVER AGAIN for me. At least until they get that taken care of.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Full of cockroaches and sketchy activity. We were there for about an hour and say over a dozen cockroaches and the front door wouldn’t even latch shut. We checked out immediately and were told since we stayed over and hour that we couldn’t get a refund. Avoid staying here at all costs, this place is a dump.

ok stay. close to destination

The rooms had a funky smell, not enough towels m. The two beds were not even queen size they were all full-size not what I expected old building staff not efficient. Will not stay there again. I saw a lot of people leaving the property because of the bad conditions of the rooms they are nothing compared to what the picture show be aware don’t book there. Save yourself money. I couldn’t stay the 2 nights because how uncomfortable I was.

Literally went and checked out the room and denied staying there. It was so bad. I felt very scared there as a single reboot and State at the roadhouse in Leucadia, disappointed at all.

Everything was horrible, definitely will never book a stay with Motel 6. The worst experience ever. Dirtiest rooms, infested with roaches and looked like the floors haven’t been cleaned in years. Sheets were stained. Save yourself the trouble
