Comfort Inn Bessemer Birmingham South

I enjoyed my stay at Comfort Inn Bessemer South. I will have future stays at this hotel. This visit makes two within six months.

I was disappointed to find the room smelled terrible, the bed was not properly made, the carpet was dirty and the water sprinkler appeared to be hanging by a thread. When I tried to contact the owner about the issues and my early checkout, which was necessitated by the room's condition, they evaded my calls and directed me through a third party, refusing to refund my money. The check-in and checkout process was also slow due to the staff being busy, likely because they were understaffed.

The room was great, clean and comfortable. There were restaurants within walking distance and Alabama Adventure was literally around the corner. Will be staying again.

Room seemed to be okay when we arrived. You can tell it’s not cleaned the best but didn’t look gross to stay at. We woke up to a german roach on our door. The man at the front desk was very apologetic and seemed sincere. We were told someone would call us that day and it’s been over a week with no call, and will not answer my calls.

It's a lower price hotel that is worn out. A security door on the side does not lock and slams every time someone comes and goes.

Worst place I’ve stayed at in years. Absolute dump. Door didn’t lock, entire floor smelled like weed. Giant gap under door let weed smell in, stains all over carpet, HVAC wouldn’t get cool, bathroom door wouldn’t close, shower leaked on both sides, desk chair broken, right lamp inoperable. Just terrible.

it seemed kind of old, but it was clean. Didn't get the breakfast because it was almost 9am when we went down, so there wasn't much of anything because it is only served till 9.

This hotel was old and outdated! Not clean!! Something was spilled on the bathroom wall and just left there. The rooms need major updates. Just not clean!!! I was so disappointed in the quality of this room for the expensive price that we paid. These rooms shouldn’t even be $100 per night! Definitely won’t be back!! Only good thing about this room is the bed was comfortable.

Easy check in and out. The only problem was the refrigerator didn’t work and we had to finish eating our food so it wouldn’t spoil.

The rooms smelled like smoke and the lobby smelled like marijuana in the evening.

Room was clean ,comfy ,the breakfast.. there was no waffle mix ,and the orange tasted odd,

This was by far the worst stay at a hotel! Tub in the shower was dirty and not draining properly the comforter had hair on it, refrigerator was nasty, door wasn’t closing properly, had to have keys redone twice , was offered to move rooms a day before check out , was told first nothing could be done! Do not stay here the worst! Will never get my business again!

Some updates to the rooms in the facility

During our 4 night stay, the room was not cleaned nor the towels changed. We had to go down to the desk and get fresh towels. We asked them to clean the room halfway thru our stay and all they did was empty the trash. The beds were uncomfortable and the comforters on both beds were ripped. The curtains had mold growing on them. Cleaning is obviously done by just hitting the high spots because the entire place is almost nasty. I’ve been extremely disappointed in the direction Choice hotels has gone lately and this stay just added to that disappointment.

Pictures are not accurate. Our room was extremely dirty - fingerprints all over headboard & hair on blankets. Blinds were stained & there were splatters of a drink all over the walls. The back door entry was unlocked & did not latch to the outside public - VERY UNSAFE.
