Great breakfast and great location

Wonderful staff, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great location by the river and close to the centre. The breakfast was really good with a nice variety of fresh food. We also enjoyed having tea in the breakfast area during the day. Very comfortable bed and a spacious shower with warm water. We had a lovely stay. The room was a bit small for three people with large suitcases, but it was still okay for us. It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room, although we could use the fridge in the breakfast area for essentials.

This is the second time we have stayed at Hotel De L’ll. It is located across the river from the cathedral and an easy walking distance to shopping, restaurants and bars. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a very nice breakfast included and coffee, tea and sweets are available after breakfast. There is a place to store luggage before check-in and after check-out. The hotel has an elevator.. We will stay there again if we return to Strasbourg. Like many budget hotels in Europe, the rooms are small. This was not a problem for us but might be for others.

Lovely little hotel close to the river, the room was small but comfortable and functional. The staff was incredibly friendly and the breakfast was nice as well. The reception is staffed 24/7 which is very helpful.

everything was fantastic: location, staff, cleanness, taste but above all The Breakfast, the queen of all breakfasts -i’ve stayed in expensive hotels of many many stars and they could come and learn at de l’ill!

Everything was excellent. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well organized. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The girl at the reception was very kind, and the guy with glasses was also very nice and welcoming (I didn’t catch their names). The location was perfect, and the overall experience was amazing. I really enjoyed my stay. Nothing. Everything was perfect

A small but very cozy hotel in Strasbourg with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. The hotel is perfect for a short stay of 1–2 days and offers a comfortable and pleasant experience. -

Nice breakfast, has elevator, clean. We were allowed to meet and play cards in dinning room at night. Staff were very helpful and kind. It was winter and to get to our room you had to walk outside from the main building. Our shower was tiny and if you dropped anything you had to open the door to retrieve it.

Room Bathroom Breakfast Location
-
It was clean and staff was always helpful and kind. And breakfast was perfect. Location was quite good. The bathroom is extremely narrow and it is not quite nice showering with a shower curtain constantly sticking on you, also not sanitary. If bathroom had been better, I would’ve given 10.

Hotel de L’Ill is an ideal hotel for visiting Strasbourg. It is short 4-5 minute walk across a convenient bridge over the River Ill to old town and the Cathedral quarter, a short 10-minute walk to abundant shops, restaurants and museums located in old town - yet being across the river from old town makes it less crowded and more accessible for taxi’s, ride-share etc. The hotel give me very precise and easy-to-follow instructions for low-cost travel from the airport, by train to central Strasbourg station and then by tram and short walk to the hotel. Everyone at the front desk was helpful. The included morning breakfast was good and had a lot of variety, and it was especially nice that the coffee machine and a bowl of fruits and left-over breakfast pastries were available throughout the day. My room was reasonably large by European standards and well-appointed and very clean.

Very well located, Nice staff and great breakfast. The air conditioning was not working and the heater could not be turned off. We have to sleep with an open window due to the heating room. Staff could not solve the issue or change our room.

The location was perfect for the Christmas Market visit. There’s an elevator so that’s important. Our room was a typical small, European hotel room with barely space to lay out two carry-on size suitcases. We faced the street so lots of noise throughout the night.
-
The coffee machine is not consistent. We tried espresso, cappuccino, regular coffee and chocolate chaud - it was all weak. Other than that - we liked the hotel. I think the machi e needs to be recalibrated.
-
Great proximity to the Christmas market! No parking available (only a few spots and we’re all taken) Poor noise isolation we could hear people walking and talking by the door, since our room was in a back alley.

Location perfect for Christmas markets and tram stop. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room seemed clean. The room was small and had people outside from midnight to early hours smoking, triggering the light sensor for the light outside the room and talking so kept us awake all night. The window was broken so did not close all the way, letting in cold air and noise. The curtain was mounted too far from the window so it did not keep the light outside, nor did it provide adequate privacy - you could see the person lying in bed from outside - where there was a table and chairs for the smokers. The bathroom window was not opaque enough so you could see the general shape of someone showering. The shower was open to the rest of the bathroom - no shower curtain or curb so the entire floor by the toilet and sink would get wet. The rooms on the other floors are probably nice. This one felt like a store room turned into a room. The scrambled eggs are still a disaster, but you can boil your own fresh egg just how you like. The pastries were big and fresh. They had a good selection for breakfast - yogurt, fruit, meat, cheeses, coffee, tea, real orange juice, etc.
