The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay

Our room included complementary coffee and 2 bottles of water. Check out was noon. $18 parking, shuttle to Oakland airport and my main attraction was closeness to my favorite Marina park. They have Horatio’s and a Mexican restaurant within walking distance as well. Costco is only 10 mins away

The lobby was the best looking part and misleading. The rest is dated, our blow dryer did not work and iron had built up water gunk that almost ruined my daughter’s shorts. Went for a morning walk to discover the marina is closed and no longer docks boats and just looks like a ghost town in the back. Pretty sad actually. Sure it was grand in its day along with the hotel. Must say though the breakfast was great and staff friendly. All in all, if you’re looking for a budget in the San Francisco area, it’s a fair price considering what you get across the bay in San Francisco. The on site free parking is another plus.

Do not book , unless you like the feel and smell of an old folks home!

Clean room, friendly staff, breakfast

The hotel is right on the bay, so it's has a nice ocean-front feel. The staff is very nice and helpful. It is important to know that the shuttle goes to the Oakland Airport. (Not their fault, but I misread that and had to make some adjustments to get to and from SFO.)

It was a pleasure to stay here. It was very helpful to be able to check in early. It was nice to be at the water. Bed was comfortable and the outdoor deck was nice. The shuttle was super helpful in the morning. Close to the airport.

The staff member who welcomed us was knowledgeable but not that friendly. She seemed upset when I asked her to repeat one of her sentences by slowly repeating it to me with a strong intonation. The room was clean. Overall, the whole building is super outdated, the parking fee price is too much for what they offer, and the “continental” breakfast they offer it’s pretty disappointing (boiled eggs that are hard to peel, nothing hot made, f.e.). I was looking forward to this place very much but disappointed tremendously.

Very disappointing experience. I checked into my room and immediately noticed a strong unpleasant odor. The bed and mattress had a strong urine-like smell, making the room impossible to stay in. I reported the issue to the front desk right away and requested another room. I was told the hotel was fully booked and no alternative room was available. The only solution offered was changing the bed sheets, even though the odor was clearly coming from the mattress itself. Because the room was not habitable, I checked out shortly after checking in and did not stay overnight. What made the situation even worse was that neither the hotel nor Expedia took responsibility. The hotel refused to provide a refund, and Expedia ultimately did not refund the reservation either. Both parties kept pointing me back to the other instead of resolving the issue. I paid for a room that I could not use and was even charged an additional $18 parking fee despite leaving immediately. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this property based on how this situation was handled.

The staff has a good customer service skills like Mona, Jennifer, & the other pilipino lady with glasses. They always got people cleaning, making sure the property is clean. When I use to order foods for delivery, they always call me & let me know that my orders arrived. Even if there were times there were spiders & WiFi isn't excellent, I like this property. There are cats around there which is ok because I love cats & it's by the water as well I just like the location because it's by the water & the sound of the airplane is relaxing. Even if there's no street lights by the golf course or before you even enter, I still like this location, but most of all, great customers service

This property appears to have quietly changed ownership and management over the past few years. The "marina" that this namesake is near is no longer a marina, it's abandoned and the rooms are gently showing their age, they charged me $18 for parking?? They also advertise a "hot breakfast" but have reduced the "breakfast" to a continental style where you could maybe make a waffle, or just have toast and one of the four or five boxes of cereal. It's just a disappointment. I feel we will have to find lodging elsewhere on our next trip.

I only stayed one night but I had a nice view and easy parking. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The tv worked very well. The refrigerator was cold.
