Wonderful location and such a beautiful hotel. The continental breakfast was basic. Beds were comfortable and ghost experience are a bonus! lol Super cool history with plenty to do around the area.

Every staff member we’re encountered was extremely friendly & helpful. Being able to park in a nearby lot was essential and most convenient. We stayed in a room at the very end of a hallway & had complete peace & quiet. The neighborhood is considered Japantown and was very walkable & safe. We also were able to walk a few blocked to use public transportation. Overall great stay for our one night in San Francisco.

First, the hotel is clean, with a good standard breakfast, modern bathrooms, and coffee and tea and ice water available all day in the lobby. The staff are REALLY considerate and professional. Housekeeping is great. There is limited parking right across the street. Second, the entire hotel is actually an 1800s converted girls' finishing school! It's all gorgeous wood trim and huge staircases, velvet drapes, Victorian wallpaper, and a mix of antique and reproduction furniture and decor. The first floor has working fireplaces and a bunch of sofas and fancy chairs where you can sit and enjoy the ambiance. It was so much fun after staying in boring, generic chain hotels so often. The only downside was that the mattress was a bit uneven. To be fair, I stayed at six different hotels on this trip and five of them had weird mattresses! The Queen Anne is a quick 5 minute walk to the Peace Plaza in Japantown, which includes lots of restaurants and shops. It's a safe and pretty 30 minute walk to Lower Haight. We even walked to Lone Mountain at the University of San Francisco, and the Asian Art Museum, though those took about 45 minutes each during peak hours.

Very nice and stylish! Excellent Location. Friendly and helpful Staff. Parking nearby for reasonable pricing.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Good breakfast. Good parking. Clean rooms. Kids really liked it. Would definitely stay again.

The atmosphere was cute. The furnishings are lovely. The breakfast buffet is worse than the meanest holiday Inn express. No eggs whatsoever. Coffee from a machine on the wall. Front staff were nice, buffet staff not so much.

The Queen Anne Hotel is a beautiful Victorian building. It’s decorated with gorgeous woodden carved furniture. It has spacious lobby and library with a nice fireplace. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed and a walking closet. It was decorared also with beautiful furniture, drapes and lamps from the 19th century. The Hotel serves a good breakfast in a large dinning room. The Hotel is at a walking distance from Japan town where you can find nice restaurant and stores. The Queen Anne Hotel it’s truly a jewel in San Francisco City.

The place was clean and historical

Parking was easy to find. Staff is very kind and respectful. Room was clean. Great location can get to many touristic spots with ease as it is conveniently close to this hotel. If you like historic/antique hotels this is the one for you. One area of improvement would be that if someone books a room for five people they could provide that room with a sofa bed or something similar as the room I booked had two queen beds that only fit four people. Other than that it great experience!

First, I’m surprised no one seems to mention the beds. They were the worst hotel beds I have ever slept on. Both beds sagged badly and were extremely uncomfortable. Our reservation was for five people, so we expected a rollaway bed. Unfortunately, mattress was in such poor condition that none of the five of us was willing to sleep on it. I brought this to the attention of the front desk, but they still charged me for the rollaway. While it was only $20, the issue was the lack of concern for guest comfort. I had already paid for an additional guest, and when the extra bed proved unusable, I expected some accommodation rather than being charged anyway. I understand this is a Victorian-era hotel, but the building has a noticeably old, musty smell and an atmosphere that felt somewhat eerie. The kids even looked it up afterwards and found that the hotel is reportedly haunted, which probably explains some of the spooky vibe it gives. Overall, the uncomfortable sleeping arrangements and the hotel’s lack of responsiveness to our concerns made this a disappointing stay.

The location The parking costs too much although it says that it includes parking. The breakfast was not good, cold coffee, over boiled eggs, and a very limited options.

Beautifully decorated hotel. Very comfortable. Good location. Adequate breakfast provided. Nice staff.

We liked the size of the room, the comfort of the bed, the general vibe of the hotel overall, and the extra walk-in closet which made it easy to store stuff without tripping over it constantly. We've stayed here in years past and came back again because we knew it was high value. We didn't like that there was no mini-refrigerator in the room, which we discovered after bringing back big leftover sandwiches from the amazing Italian deli down the street. We also didn't like that the shampoo/conditioner/gel apparatus was impossible to use, and we had to open it up and uncap the bottles to get in.

Staff was incredibly rude.
-
The common areas were uncommonly comfortable, with two large lobby areas, each with a fireplace. Many guests enjoyed these special spaces. Also, the location in Japantown had many excellent restaurant choices.
-
Main criticism is breakfast: cheap pastries; no yogurt; only boiled eggs; little fruit; crummy coffee and juices. Wouldn't take much to do better, more fitting to the building.
