The Mithila is not a posh hotel and the rooms are small, but much can be said for its old-fashioned charm. Anyone who enjoys antiques or old machines will be pleased to find a well-maintained, fast 1905 Otis elevator that you operate yourself to navigate between floors. This was my second multi-night stay at the Mithila and I will happily return in the future.

The location is handy enough, easy to get around SF. For a budget stay, it was good enough. Building is quite old and feels like in need of a bit of renovation. Strong, off smell in the bedroom from the start. Shower wasn't pleasant, very old and took a bit of time to get warm water.

Loved the vintage room. The elevator was a great experience. It was located in a nice area. Our room stayed very hot. It had a ceiling fan but it didn’t seem to help. It would be nice if a fan could have been available.

The hotel itself was historic and well kept on the outside. It there was a little hidden to find on the street and there were a decent amount of people who passed on on the street. So beware that when trying to check in if you don't have someone to help with parking, the rooms were were solo stocked and well kept dust was in the bathroom that did grow concerns but overall everything was fine. The elevator is very cool and the staircase is narrow so be forewarned as it says in the description

The towels could be updated, but there were plenty in the room. I was not there a lot, so the price worked well for me. This location is great for travelers on a budget. The neighborhood was fine. There is a wonderful market two doors down where you can get all sort of food and supplies and the rooms have a fridge and microwave. No breakfast, but they have coffee in the room and two cafes within the block. Trader Joe’s is right up the street. Aces Nar is a NY bar three doors down. Lively and clean.

Says the have valet parking but that wasn't true. On e all 13 of us arrived in 2 vehicles we were told they couldn't accommodate us. Had to find other parking we ended up parking 4 blocks away and walking. But the property is clean I felt safe.

Had a short one night stay, and it's honestly very practical. It might not look much on outside and the corridors are quite tight, but the room itself is very spacious and clean

Good location Very tiny rooms, overpriced, street full of homeless and drug addicts. Beware - although they state they have parking, in reality they will refer you to a nearby public parking lot after booking, where you will pay at least $50 per day.
