Quality Inn and Suites St Charles - West Chicago

It was okay. Nothing special about it

I gave them a 3 stars because they put us in a section where they put guests traveling with animals. My elderly mother got upset with the constant barking and asked to be moved which they did move us but in the process of my mother moving us (as I was in an all day conference and not there with her at the time) something of mine was left in the room and when I asked the front desk nothing was returned. Point of it all is why would you put guests not traveling with animals in a section with guests traveling with animals? The place is huge I don’t see where it would have been necessary.

The sheets were clean. The staff was abrasive, sarcastic, accused my husband of lying. They were dismissive and talked about us in front of other guest. They overcharged us and when we asked about it they stated they didnt know what to do. The African American older lady at check-in stated my husband was lying about the type and number of pets we had. She stated the manager was out of town and wouldn't be back for 10 days. She stated she didnt know who was second in charge and didnt even know who to call if the hotel was on fire. No elevator. No support. We booked through Booking.com.we called Booking and they were helpful at first, then hung up on me. The second Caucasian attendant did leave an apology note with snacks the following day. We are still waiting on our refund because they charged us 3x for our stay.

It was a decent area! Not too bad for a quality inn Some of the renovations weren’t 100% complete. The toilet wasn’t bolted to the ground, the flooring on the back of the toilet didn’t touch so there was a gap there. But mostly clean and decent facilities

Staff friendly and accomodationing.

Well upon arriving the room I had was disgusting.. it smelled like mildew and the shower floor was dirty , some lights ain’t work and there was a dog barking the entire night. The next day the hot water didn’t work. Front desk staff THELMA WAS A DOLL. she made the transition so easy to get another room. She was a beautiful soul for sure . And the new room was much better.. all the rooms are not the best you can tell they have favorites. The breakfast is just waffles, apples and pastries …. No protein which was odd. The property could use some updates . If I evebr return it will be to see Ms Thelma honestly . She was wonderful!

Breakfast selections could be improved. Coffee runs out and doesn’t get replenished. We stayed 3 nights in June (2 people). Bed was comfortable, and room temperature was good. We never needed to change the temperature setting. Refrigerator and microwave were clean. TV selections were good and control was easy to use. There was plenty of parking and close to door. Check-in was quick and easy. Bathroom was functional, but our body wash and lotion dispensers were empty upon arrival. We should have asked for refills and fresh towels but never did. Daily housekeeping is only done upon request, which is something I’ve never experienced before.

The property was honestly better than expected. The property was clean and maintained. The breakfast wasn’t good. Our room was huge (handicap accessible), our friends room wasn’t such a great experience but they were switched without problems. Some rooms come with jacuzzi tubs but that wasn’t told to us. THELMA at the front desk is a true gem. She was such a pleasure to be around and so helpful. She made any issues seem like it wasn’t that bad. Her positive attitude and comfort makes me want to come back. All in all I would come back and the property was nice.
