No complaints, great location, view, and amenities

Nice weekend

The hotel was conveniently located on the boardwalk and close to the beach , close to the shops and restaurants. However, the hotel itself is old and outdated. The rugs smelled. We had two locks in our room that didn’t work. The ice machine needed to be cleaned, and there was only one available due to repairs on others. I had no interaction with the staff except for check-in.

Staff was excellent. Room and property were very clean. However, after a renovation the room had minimal storage. Also the WiFi is awful. We could not connect at all and the people in the next room would gather in the hall to watch football on their laptop as it was the only place they could get internet.

we love the Atlantic sands for It’s pool and access to the boardwalk. Well, the property is older. Seems well maintained. The rooms are a little tight, but you can’t beat the location.!

Overall good location and clean facility

Keri at the front desk is rotten and speaks poorly to everyone. our shower water only was freezing cold or scorching hot and when we asked for help or to change rooms the maintenance manager advised the water was fine and it was a “comfortable temperature for a shower”. it turned my skin bright red and i could not give my 2 year old a bath in water that hot. the mini fridge was dirty, the cabinets were falling apart, they don’t give full size pillows just couch pillows that are small squares, the ice machine was covered in mold. keri at the front desk and the head of maintenance will talk poorly about you at the front desk, loudly for other patrons to hear. they over book and allow staff to park in the parking garage making it so there is not enough parking for the people paying for there rooms there. Keri at the front desk will tell you if you didn’t book directly through the Atlantic Sands they will NOT accommodate anything that’s wrong w the room bc it is “not there problem bc it wasn’t booked directly through the hotel”. this was a HORRIBLE experience and would NEVER return. i highly encourage you to book at another hotel. The Henlopen was great last year.

The amenities make this hotel the best one on the boardwalk ! Friendly staff

No view as booked, couldn’t find room due to lack of signage on 3rd floor. Front desk agent was rude. Said they couldn’t check in until 4pm when check in is at 3pm. My daughter was there to celebrate her birthday, we won’t be back. Overpriced and didn’t deliver.

Air conditioning wouldn’t stay on, in room hair dryer dangerously defective

- the position of the hotel is advantageous for - walks on the boardwalk - getting to the beach - staff is courteous and always says hello - ac blows cold The bad: - no fan vent in the bathroom - uncomfortable beds - low water pressure in the showers - slow draining in the showers causing puddling and water to remain stagnant in the tub - mini fridge took a night to cool down drinks - toilet paper can sand rust off of a caliper - no plunger so courteous flushes are required Overall, its a place to sleep with a favorable location. If nightly walks on the boardwalk and a favorable location for easy beach access is what youre looking for, then this is your place. If you can sacrifice those and are willing to pay in the pay as you go parking spots, then id say look elsewhere a few blocks away if the price is significantly cheaper.

The hotel was clean and the rooms comfortable. Staff was nice but it was inconvenient to only have one elevator and no laundry facilities. Despite that, we would stay here again for the location can’t be beat for the price

Oceanfront

Really liked the pool and the convenience to the boardwalk. Our suite was very nice. The biggest problem was that the bedroom TV never worked. It was an inconvenience to have a total of four staff members making several visits to our room - crawling around on the floor, fiddling with cables and promising that they’d have Comcast come the next day (which never happened). They never fixed it. They didn’t seem too concerned about it either.

The room view was excellent we loved the whole experience from check in to check out . Both very fast!

I loved it—very clean and safe. The room had everything needed, and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant serves excellent food for both children and adults. It’s a place to relax, and everything is close by.

We did have a great time, however, I found small ants in my made bed when pulling down covers. It kind of made me feel crawley for the rest of the trip. They were cleaning all the time but it’s kind of like the saying lipstick on a pig. Wallpaper peeling, worn rugs in hall down to the base floor. Banged up furniture and doors. Just needs a face lift. The beach view was great. For us this was a 1 and done. It’s a shame because it’s a perfect location.
