Red Roof Inn Plus & Suites Opelika

We got the jacuzzi room and besides having a water spot where someone before us spilled water out of the tub, it was such a wonderful experience. We wanted to relax and we were able to! Our only issue was the cleaning lady was at the desk while we were in the lobby and arguing and complaining to the guy at the desk (? Owner). It was a bit awkward. Other than that, for an older place it was pretty good.

Room wasn’t conditioned when brought in. Was incredibly humid. Pillows were not fluffed. Staff was little to no help, and the room had bugs. Worst of all the jacuzzi the reason I purchased the room was broken and didn’t work. They only gave me $90 refund on a near $400 stay for 2 nights. Hasn’t even been processed yet so who knows if it’s a scam.

The check in staff was very nice and friendly and the lobby was fairly tidy. The room was absolutely disgraceful and filthy. The bath mat had stained dirty footprints on it, there were animal scratches all over the back of the bathroom door. The caulking around the bathroom fixtures was covered in mildew. When I went to wipe up some water I spilled on the floor, the napkin was nearly black. The floor is half vinyl and partly indoor outdoor carpet. Both were stained and filthy. If we hadn’t been so extremely tired, we would not have stayed there. The bed sheets were pilled and scratchy. There were no signs of bed bugs and believe me, I really checked. The whole place is gross. Don’t stay here.

The mini fridge door didn't close properly and the freezer part was nearly frosted shut unable to be used. The toilet seat slid pack & forth every time anyone sat on it. The floors were sticky like they hadn't been cleaned properly or maybe with a dirty mop. However, by the last night when we returned to the room the floors were not sticky anymore. The sheet on the bed was stained, although they finally changed the bedding completely on the third night of our stay. There wasn't any directory for the TV channels. We also never had a DO NOT DISTURB hanger for our door. We did like the coffee in the room. The AC unit made a loud buzz every time the compressor kicked in to cool, but it did maintain the 73 degree temperature we requested. The water pressure was phenomenal and we liked the soap that was provided. The tub however did not appear to have been well cleaned. We were given fresh towels daily. When I requested a receipt at checkout, one could not be provided by the night clerk and never arrived in my email as promised. We were able to park directly outside of our window, which was convenient.

My smelled and roaches were visible!! This was one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed!! In fact, had to get another hotel (Holiday Inn) just down the road!

The location was nice except for the homeless lady standing outside.That was weird. The cleanliness of the room and the attitude of the employees it was subpar, the bathroom was dirty. and the bathroom was ill equipped.

Room was clean. Beds were OK. Wife wishes she had brought her own pillows but I had no problems.

Air conditioner worked The smell of the room, finding a bottle of ranch and foil in a drawer. We think someone since drugs in there.

No one was available at the front desk so it took 20 mins to check in. Wash cloths and towels still looked dirty. Shower curtain fell on me once; tried to put it back up. Fell twice afterwards. Called front desk for help. No answer after 2 calls. They finally answered on the 3rd try but there was no "help" to fix the problem. They offered another room but I had already settled there.

The room was dirty. It hadn't been vacuumed and there was coffee spilt all over the desk that left a sticky residue. I'll never stay at a Red Roof again.

The staff was very polite and nice. The room did not make me feel safe. The door jam was broken and screwed together which did not allow the door to close securely. There was dried vomit on the carpet, hair in the tub, and a towel that was supposed to be white, but wasn’t.
