Best Western Auburn/Opelika Inn

Everything about this place was enjoyable. The staff was extremely welcoming, and the property was immaculately clean.

I specifically reserved this hotel because it was listed online as dog friendly. In fact, to this day it still is. When I checked into the hotel, I told the person at the front desk that I had a dog. He told me I would need to pay the "pet fee", which I was happy to do. At first I was told it was $20.00, then I was told it was $25.00, and then after the front desk person shuffled some papers under the desk, I was told it was $30.00, which I gladly paid. However, I thought to myself that this was propably not going to be a good experience. After having my dog in and out several times past the front desk, upon leaving the hotel later in the early evening I was approached by the front desk person and possibly a manager (female) and was then told that they were in fact NOT a dog friendly hotel. I explained that I would never have made a reservation there if I had know that and was up front about having a dog when I checked in. They also told me that they had not been dog friendly for three years. That seemed a little odd, since the front desk clerk did not know anything about that. There was dark black long hair all over the bathroom and in general the room did not appear to be clean or kept up.

Dark exterior and interior. Smelled bad. Very old and out of date. No automatic doors. Struggled getting in with all luggage. Then found out they have no elevator and we were on 2nd floor. Struggled to get everything to the 2nd floor. Carpet in room had several gross looking stains by bed. We did not feel comfortable or safe staying in this creepy place. One of the WiFi selections was Big D-ck Energy, which confirmed even more that we were not in a good place Wanted out the first night but couldn't find a place to go. Contacted hotels.com for refund. They did give a partial refund but that was it.

The guy at the front desk was great We reserved a room with 2 queen beds and initially we got a room with only 1 bed. We went back to the front desk and they gave us another room with 2 beds but no AC. it was a living hell. I went back to the front desk to ask for another room or at least a fan. Nothing was provided.

Worst staff and help ever. Came to hotel for my sons birthday to swim there was no water in the pool then they couldn’t even find one of my reservations so I was stuck within room unless I wanted to pay again for another. Then I was promised a refund and no refund at all not even for the reservation that they couldn’t find and I had the confirmation number that they didn’t wanna look up. Left to pay for two other rooms didn’t even stay at the hotel and the hotel hotel.com or chime didn’t wanna refund me anything.

Breakfast could have been better stayed 3 days each day there was only 2 egg patties 2 sausage and 1 dry biscuit and the biscuit gravy was so empty you couldn’t even get a scoop the waffles were good coffee was very good would have liked to have water to drink
