The Ace is still a vibe after all these years. It’s a vibrant hotel that has still a bit of that PNW steampunk spirit base on its Seattle origins. I really enjoyed the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. The room was no frills feeling more like a road warrior hotel than a 4-star trendy New York hotel, but I didn’t mind it. They keep the fun going all the way to the basement which housed a well equipped, but tiny gym. More than two people working out would feel too crowded. The location could not be better as it’s between Flatiron, Murray Hill and Koreatown, as well as major subway lines and Penn Station.

Staff can be prickly and no cash to make change for maid service at front desk or coffee bar. Not sure they understand fully that we are guests. They have a strange attitude for hospitality…

I don't normally leave reviews, but this was a really nice stay. Everything about the place, the staff, the amenities, were tasteful and perfect.

I really wanted to like my stay but no WiFi during the stay is just not acceptable. I stayed at this property 3 times and there were issues ( small and big) that made my stay memorable in bad ways. The vibe and ambience are still good but the property needs major upgrade.

Great room, friendly staff, super close to everything, restaurants, bars..awesome bodegas around the corner!

Amazing lobby, lovely cleaning staff, cool vibe, TV had Chromecast No soap dishes! My soap was always stuck to the sink. Also, the single rooms have huge desks but no drawers or cupboards for clothes, which makes no sense.

Great location with easy access to the subway, coffee shops, a popular bagel shop, restaurants and supermarkets. Madison Square Park and the Flatiron District are just a short walk away and are perfect for relaxing outdoors. If you enjoy staying in Midtown, this hotel is definitely worth considering. The room was spacious by New York standards and offered excellent value for money. We also had a great view of the Empire State Building. The staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The windows are not very soundproof, so traffic noise can be noticeable at night and in the early morning. We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor facing 29th Street. If you are sensitive to noise, it may be worth requesting a room facing the inner courtyard or on a higher floor.

Not what it used to be… Rude staff and poor service. TV wasn’t working, AC was set at one temperature and the thermostat didn’t work, so had to place a towel over the vents in order to be able to sleep without freezing. Even with the actual “Not Yet” (do not disturb) sign up, cleaning staff knocked at my door every morning waking me up. The guy at the reception, was always on the phone every time I went there, and based on the conversations, it seemed not hotel or customer related… leaving me standing and waiting while he finished his calls, then smiling and talking to me, a customer, like I’m a buddy from the “hood”… not appropriate. At checkout I made him aware of the issues in my room and about the services, and he said he would take some fees off the bill… which did not happened either. The Ace has a great location, but frankly it has fallen into mediocre territory.

I will always stay here on any trip because the staff is the best!

The space, the location, very central. The noise ! Cannot sleep well , the windows are not dooble glazed, a real problem in NY

The location was great to access subway, shopping and Times Square. The rooms were quiet and clean.

Great location, nice rooms, good vibe, great heating/ cooling in room

Great location. Vibey. Clean big rooms with comfortable beds. Great bar area and feel. Checking in was a fuss. Didn’t have the correct room plan for our party and caused stress by stating initially we hadn’t booked the rooms we were stating we had which was corrected. Very slow at communicating between themselves and as there appeared to be one employee / manager that could check the team in.

My hotel room was incorrectly charged to my credit card, although payment was supposed to be covered by the organization that invited me. Despite multiple emails and confirmations from all parties involved, the issue has still not been resolved after three months. That said, the hotel itself was okay. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, and I especially liked the (small) gym facilities. My disappointment is with the handling of the payment issue, which remains unresolved despite repeated follow-ups, inexcusable

Location. I have been staying here for visits to NYC for at least a dozen years. It felt like my home base in the city. The rooms and lobby were favorites in their style and vibe. Their website states they offer a “discount” for parking. There is no discount. The lot charges $50 and the hotel adds on $25 for a total of $75. Better to not say you are staying at the hotel and pay $50. It is a scam. They also made an unauthorized charge to my bill for a charity. Check your bill. Last, they sold their lobby. As a guest, I was asked to leave the lobby because a private event was being held. A security guard followed me to make sure I was going to my room. As an unaccompanied woman, I told him to not follow me. I had to tell him three times that I was uncomfortable. It was never disclosed that access to the lobby was on a limited basis.
