The property did a poor job communicating about their construction, on their website and through a third party. Our direct message said thru Expedia said their is construction going on. Property failed to compensate their guest. Construction is happening next door to the property. They gave us a room literally next to the construction. So rather than, blocking that area, they booked us in those rooms, knowing the noise is bothersome. They allowed us to stay and granted we explained our case that we didn't see the notification about construction being done. Understanding both faults, they said it's not their problem. We booked the place because of the location but to say because we didn't see their disclaimer is completely our fault when you could of closed out those rooms allowing us a chance to find a different place is unfair. You took our money and ruined our stay with their construction.

Horrible experience. Outrageously priced for a dirty room.

This experience was amazing! The room was clean and the restroom was breath taking. The staff were also kind and patient. I did not get a chance to go to the hot tub but I did go into the pool and it was clean and a pretty decent size .

The property was under heavy renovations. Very loud and blocked the views. I was not aware of renovations. Staff was rude as I had booked on Expedia.

2 bedroom suite is in need of update. Refrigerator at the bar not working. AC an issue in one room non working portable. No AC in living g room or around the area. Rusted refrigerator and stove. The view is beautiful!

Beach proximity was amazing. Figuring out parking was a nightmare. The room was beautiful but the walls paper thin. Like thin enough that I didnt feel comfortable being intimate with my partner. The rain shower head was cool but pretty useless trying to wash shampoo out of my hair. Ice machine was hard to find- had to ask staff. Cost was excellent. Bed comfortable. Room clean and staff attentive.

    Everything was wonderful.

The biggest downside was billing. We split the room between multiple cards, and the hotel placed several pending holds totaling much more than our stay. The front desk assured us splitting the charges would be fine, but at checkout another employee said they were not sure what had been done, making the process unnecessarily confusing. I also reached out before our trip to share that we were celebrating a graduation, but unlike many hotels, nothing was done to acknowledge it. The property is still under renovation, so some areas feel unfinished and the pool isn’t especially luxurious. We did hear some early morning construction one day, though it wasn’t a major issue. If you book an ocean-view room, know that you can hear the sea lions barking at times, which we actually enjoyed. For about $2,000 for four week nights, it felt a bit expensive for what we received. Overall, it was a clean, comfortable stay in a great location, but I don’t think it completely lived up to the price.

Great place! Me and my parents planned a staycation in La Jolla. We stayed on the first floor, I wish I could have been in a higher floor to enjoy the view more and have a bit more privacy, since our balcony was right next the rail to go into the hotel and people were passing by a bit. But still very nice place to stay in. The renovated rooms are super nice and very spacious. The only complaint I have for my stay was the Valet parking. It took about 30 minutes (if not more) to get my car parked. Although the staff was nice about it and explained that it was due to low staffing, which I understand. Getting my car back when leaving went smoothly. Other than that, it was a great stay! The staff were super nice and accommodating. My parents enjoyed it and are planning to do this again and hopefully next time being on the higher floor. Definitely staying here again!

WAIT!!DON’T BOOK!!! I was looking forward to having a serene anniversary trip planned these past few days, and what I got was terrible headache and noise! This hotel is deeply, and heavily UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!! They expect you to pay full price and to hear wedding music bumping loud till 10p, and at 7am you wake up to concrete being drilled, construction workers YELLING, chains and drills going off for minutes on end until 3p!!! It was sooo noise, we had to shut the door and that didn’t even help!!! The staff was not helpful in accommodating us, just saying “you can leave early.” That doesn’t fix anything when everywhere else is completely booked and I booked this hotel 6 weeks ago!!! I can’t tell you how much I dreaded our stay here. The valet was backed up because they have no parking structure… and the noise was so bad it would make me jump when I heard things drop or be drilled on. I felt so bad for surprising my husband with this stay! Will NEVER stay here again even after construction. The smell from the ocean is also bad in this area, you are better finding another hotel!

The property is currently being renovated and the specific details are not disclosed in the information that is posted about the property. The most important detail is that construction starts at 7am. This means jack hammers, nail guns, etc. The water in the shower was not hot and pressure was low. This will probably be improved once the renovation has been completed but the value didn’t match the price for this stay. The staff is very nice which did help the overall experience.

We love it. The view was wonderful. Everything was clean

While the location is fantastic, everything else fell far short of expectations. Upon arrival, we waited over an hour for valet with no alternative parking options available. We were told the delay was due to events at the property, but that is a management and staffing issue, not a guest issue. To make matters worse, there were two weddings taking place on the rooftop during our stay, which meant guests had little to no access to the rooftop. There was also major construction next door creating noise and disruption throughout the property. Even accessing the pool required a detour because of ongoing construction. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of support from management. There was no attempt to make things right, offer compensation, or provide meaningful solutions. The response was essentially, “Sorry, that’s the situation.” Had we known about the construction, limited rooftop access, and valet issues beforehand, we would have chosen another hotel. Great location, but the overall guest experience was terrible and not worth the price.

The suite was very spacious and clean. The view was amazing and the sliding glass doors allowed the ocean breeze flow through. Great location! Fantastic view! Would book again!

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

The employees were just amazing The construction made everything really hard to access and the view was not amazing. They had a wedding and the nois was terrible. More that the people on top of us kept fighting.

Could use a fridge in the room. We didn’t receive our complimentary water at check in. Should provide robe and slippers. It was a large room with a beautiful view. No glasses or ceramic ware. Had plastic and paper cups.

Within walking distance from a small beach and coastal promenade. Great place to say. Watch the weather though, if there is high surf the beach will be closed. The heated pool and hot tub was great. Restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.

The hotel hallways do smell a little like the bay where the seals and birds are (iykyk). The rooms do need a little air on when someone is checking in and they need it to smell a little better than it smelled. They were out of hand soap in the room. The WiFi was a little tricky, as was turning the TV on - I needed to call the front desk - she was super helpful with the WiFi and TV. Very nice girl. With all of that being said, the rooms are updated, bed is comfy, and it was very clean. Great location! Looks like they are expanding and some of the above mentioned items may change in the future.
