Spacious and clean. Loved the inclusion of a laundry machine (and washing tablets!) Super friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location in between Kagoshima Chuo station and the Tenmonkan, so within walking distance to a lot of food and shops, but away from the noise and bustle. Even when all the lights were on, the room was a bit dim.

The room was spacious and we could do our own laundry in the room which was super convenient! Beds were comfortable and the location was super convenient. We ended up being stuck an extra day in Kagoshima due to the typhoon and the staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful It’s a minor detail but I agree with other reviews that state it’s a bit odd to have to go through several doors/walk through the common area to get to the bathroom sink after you use the toilet. It’s just a little odd but did not impact my stay

fav Kagoshima Chuo reminded us favorably of hotels we've stayed at in Europe. It's contemporary, well-appointed, and affordable. I was a bit worried when I read the email instructions about the automated check-in, but when we arrived a bit after 3 in the afternoon, desk staff were available and ready to help us with the check-in procedures. That made for a smooth entrance. The beds were actually the most comfortable we've had in the last 2 weeks in Japan. Getting over a cold I managed to sleep a solid 11 hours the first night. The washing machine also has a dryer function that wasn't mentioned on the booking.com page, so that was an improvement over hang-drying our clothes. We walked with our luggage between the train station and the hotel without issue. One characteristic of European hotels that I've never appreciated is that the beds are provided with a duvet, but no top sheet. As a North American, I'm used to sleeping with a top sheet, The addition of a top sheet beneath a duvet gives me more control over my sleeping temperature than just a duvet. With a top sheet = cool/warm/hot. Without a top sheet = cool/hot. I don't really expect this hotel to accept my criticism and provide top sheets, but they'd step up into world class if they did. We paid in advance for breakfasts. The breakfast menu was the same both days that we stayed. There were 5 options, one Japanese-style soup, one Japanese style sandwich, a fruit/yogurt/granola, bowl, and two different sizes of hot dogs. My wife and daughter both enjoyed the breakfasts, but I didn't eat either day. Nothing on this menu appealed to me in the morning. The directions to the hotel provided by booking.com were wrong and led us to a parking lot down the street from the hotel, which was weird, because the hotel appears on a google maps search. Don't use the booking.com directions.

Beautiful hotel with very large room

I had planned to stay somewhere else but after an absolutely terrible night of sleep, I looked to see if Fav had a Kagoshima location. And it did! The beds were comfortable with good lighting, the room was clean, and my kid loved the bunk bed. Super happy this was an option for us. The kitchenette was between the toilet and the handwashing sink so that was a little odd, but obviously not a deal breaker.

Having to unlock the door with a photo of a QR code was a bit annoying. I would have appreciated a regular keycard.

The huge group of hungover guys that took the only outdoor space to smoke and lounge for over an hour so we had to eat breakfast inside. They could have made room for the families that were obviously wanting to enjoy the outside but they used up all the seats and put their stuff on chairs so no one could have the spaces while they smoked.

Nothing. It was all great.

This was probably the largest room of our trip, for the price point. Great room and Japanese deep tub, separate toilet and shower. Also a washer/dryer in the room with detergent provided. Location was great, very close to the main station and lots of restaurants and shops. Set on a quiet back street and near to the river trail which was perfect for a morning run. A short walk to Tenmonkan as well. Nothing

No public bath in-house. If youre driving; arriving from the north of kakimotoji-dori street, google map's direction asking you to turn right into Kajiyacho (hotel's road), this is not a (legit?) easy right turn!

The breakfast is delicious, especially the rice in soup match the stomach of Asian in the cold winter. The bunk bed design is space saving so that a big sofa for we 3 to sit in can be placed in the room. The after hour check in is a bit complicated and confusing. We were asked to call to enter the building but when we tried to call by our overseas phone, we found that actually we didn't need to call. We were unable to find the reference number to get the room number and room key and finally found that it had been mentioned at the very last email sent on the same day of check in. We spent a lot of time to figure out the check in.

Great location and helpful staff Too small room and weird bed situation.
-
Room was great size for value. Washer in room very convenient. Very close to train station.
-
The staff was very helpful. They saved my friend's life after he lost his passport by helping him contact the locations involved. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Kagoshima.
-
The room was on the ground floor, next to the carpark where the smoking area was, so you could smell cigarette smoke, and occasionally hear chatting & laughing.
-
A great hotel. Modern and beautiful design, very attentive and friendly staff

Like every place we have stayed in Japan it was immaculately clean and had a heat pump we could control. We were given a free upgrade to a large suite on an upper floor with kitchenette with fridge & freezer, six dish sets, microwave, even a drain rack. The breakfasts are take away from a short list. Adequate but not stellar. A very comfortable and modern place to stay.
