Very nice hotel. We stopped on our way to the Phila area and was very well kept and great staff.

It is a nice hotel, clean, and a good value.

From sleeping well . Dirty carpet in room . Scratchy sheets . We stayed Saturday night so not sure I will stay there again and maybe stay at a b and b in countryside .

The bar and restaurant were closed forcing us to DoorDash or go elsewhere. Would have great if they had a hot tub or if the pool was heated.

Hotel was in excellent condition. Have stayed there 4-5 times and it is always consistent. Staff very helpful.

Everything was great, except for the cleanliness of my room - excessive dust on the outlets and mildew in the shower.

Nice hotel, very busy when we arrived.so elevators a bit slow. Overall perfect location to walk through JMU and quick stay.

We enjoyed the pool, fitness room, bar, restaurant, and room. Everything was great. Mitch was a super bartender; Willa served our food. I even used the laundry. We stop here whenever we journey on route 81.

The Monty was sub par for such a beautiful hotel.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is basically on the JMU campus, so you are a few minutes’ walk from anything on campus. You can also walk to downtown. The property is nicely decorated, there are two restaurants and a bar on the premises (I did not try any, but nice to have the option). There is a small, free-for-guests laundry facility and a small fitness room. The staff is friendly and helpful and addressed any questions I brought to them. There are staff at the desk 24/7. There is a parking garage around the corner from the hotel and covered access from the garage to the hotel. The access and garage are very well lit at night. Room cleaning is only provided if requested; it is not a standard. Not sure if this is cost cutting from the property or due to difficulty in finding and keeping employees. I stayed here twice in May 2026. For this stay, the listing on booking.com listed a hotel safe, but the room did not have a safe. The photos on the booking listing indicated that the room would have a bathtub, but it had only a shower. I did not address either of these issues (safe & bathtub) with the hotel staff.

Hotel staff and amenities were outstanding. Access to good and services all around are great asset to hoteliers. However there were left over trash in our room not as obvious but small enough for us to have noticed. Otherwise great experience overall.
