Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ft Lauderdale Airport/Cru by IHG

We found bed bugs at 5 am in the morning. When we informed the front desk he did not seem surprised, he didn’t even offer us a new room to stay in. We had to check out at 7 am instead of 11 am. We tried calling the hotel and contacting the manager 3x that day yet no response. Another female employee seemed irritated that we kept calling and again did not seem concerned at all that there were 5+ bed bugs found in the room. I usually never complain, low maintenance, and always try to find the good in everything but this hotel made very hard to do so.

The room had a strong musty and humid smell that made it very uncomfortable. The cleanliness of the room was disappointing, and we woke up with what appeared to be bed bug bites after only one night. Overall, this was not a pleasant experience, and I would not stay here again.

The staff was very helpful, welcoming, and attentive to our needs. They made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and highly recommend it to my family and friends.

Stayed in room 414 1. Door lock “System” to room took 2-3 attempts to open door, it would not fully unlock even though there was a green light. Then the second night cards didn’t work at all which was very frustrating after getting back to our room with children after midnight. 2. A/C leaked all over floor in huge puddles every few hours. When someone came to look at it, he told my teenage son to just put towels on the floor. 3. Beds were uncomfortable. 4. Shower tiles were cracked, seal for shower door hanging off and bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been washed in ages. The bottom of bathmat looked filthy after first shower. 5. Toilet barely worked. Had to hold down handle a long time or flush 2-3 times if you used any amount of toilet paper. No one ever came to look at it. This is our second time staying at an IHG and I should’ve learned my lesson from my first crappy experience. Never again.

Now, listen carefully, there are two holiday inns, so when a shuttle finally showed that said Holiday Inn on it we excitedly jumped in and traveled to our hotel. We got to the hotel front desk and were told we were at the wrong one. We had to Uber to the other hotel. When we arrived, we saw the shuttle sitting in the parking lot of the hotel. There was no apology for the mistake, just a front desk worker who even told us not to mess with their shuttle service any time. We'll, I won't be "messing with Holiday Inn" any time. Lets end with a positive. The next morning of my cruise I had to print luggage tags and (i forgot his name) but one of the front desk clerks was amazingly polite and let me know if there was any trouble with the printer he would help me out and print it himself. That was a breath of fresh air since the lady the day before didnt seem to care that one of the computers was broke and the printer was out of ink. PS. Stay here if you like but try not to get a room by the elevator since one of them makes the loudest alarm sound every time the door opens and closes. Safe travels!
