The Royal Sonesta Chicago River North

The staff at Royal Sonesta made the stay top tier. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great location in River North for exploring downtown on foot. There’s no microwave in the room -only on the first floor which is inconvenient but not worth changing the 5 stars I would give my overall stay

Arrived early so had to wait a bit for our room in lobby area. Furniture and carpeting were filthy, ripped and in need of a thorough cleaning and/or replacement. Was worried about what our room would like but was pleasantly surprised on cleanliness and size of room. If judging on room alone, I would give hotel 5 stars, but because of the unappealing lobby, I have to drop this to 4 stars. If judging on the lobby alone, it would’ve gotten 2 stars. Staff was good.

Great stay!

Property was nice but didn’t appreciate how some news channels (MSNOW) were screened out of their TV lineup. Otherwise very comfortable.

2. Maid did not make up our room on Fathers' Day. We did have the do-not-disturb sign up to 1:15 pm. We had to have towels sent up. 3. In room 1706, there is some deterioration in the faux leather trim just behind the bed. This needs to be replaced

Room was nice but not the room I had planned. Staff was amazing.

The property is in a great location and close to the Magnificent Mile. The restaurant was delicious and the amenities were nice. We used the gym and rooftop terrace. Didn’t get in the pool but it looked nice! The staff were great and very helpful. Only downside for us was we drove a large SUV which had to be parked in the oversized lot and cost more each day. But that’s to be expected in the city! We would stay again!

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean and well decorated. We would come back to stay again and recommend for future visits.

I deliberated for a while about what hotel to get for a few nights in Chicago. Prices at other high end hotels were wild. I ended up getting the king spa suite here and it was honestly nice. It’s surprisingly close to everything. It is an older hotel, but it was clean and nice. The city view was lacking for sure and it felt like we were just staring into an office building. The gym is mostly treadmills and some free weights. The terrace was small but nice to get some fresh air and was on our floor. The staff was nice, bed was comfy and shower was good. It worked for us so we could have a separate living room and bedroom for being able to have some privacy for work calls etc. The tv was a little glitchy and our room phone didn’t work to call the front desk, but overall it was a solid choice. Not luxury, but nice enough. Very walkable and very quick Ubers. The restaurant and bar were also not bad for some quick bites considering I couldn’t figure out if room service was an option since our phone didn’t work. :)

Room was clean. Shower water pressure was great. Bed was really comfortable. Convient location

Super happy with this hotel. Redline right outside the door. East commute to Wrigley. Great shopping and food at every turn. Easy walk to River and lake. Nice pool and rooftop terrace.
