This is a basic no frills hotel. The price is very reasonable for Alaska. That said, the bathroom was immaculate and the room itself was good. There’s a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. It was quiet. They offer complimentary breakfast and airport shuttle. We were picked up promptly at the airport even though it was 10pm. It was bright as noon and he pointed out a very vivid rainbow going straight up! The driver is the hotel manager. He also drove us back to the airport the next day to get our rental car and was very helpful and friendly. We have stayed there before and would stay there again.

If you’re flying into Anchorage for a cruise and want to save some $$$, this is a great place to stay. It was oldish, but clean. Beds were good and comfy. What blew me away was how willing the owners were to drive their vehicle to help us out. We needed to go to the store and they took us free of charge. They also took us to catch our bus to our cruise line. I wasn’t looking for luxury. Anthony & his wife were very supportive and friendly. I thank them❣️

We waited over an hour for the airport shuttle. Once the van arrived it was disgustingly dirty & the rooms weren't much better.
-
We were in a non-smoking room, but there was a slight odor of tobacco smoke that was not covered up by the cleaning chemicals. Only stayed one night. It was a good value considering we were there during tourist season.

The staff was absolutely fantastic! Super nice and welcoming, went above and beyond!!!!!

An ok place for a stay before departing anchorage. The room was fairly large but had no place for luggage. Breakfast was eggs, hash brown, and sausage. A ratty display of muffins and cold cereal with unrefrigerated milk. The carpet was absolutely disgusting to the point that we wore flip flops at all times. Curtains did little to keep out the light at night. I would not recommend it.

This hotel is located in a bit of a rough area - we arrived a little after midnight and there was a good bit of foot traffic all around. We didn't have any problems but were a little uneasy as we traveled with kids and the rooms was outer door access. The facility is older, but extremely clean and the front desk clerk was very kind. Breakfast was also very good.

The shuttle service was wonderful. Took us from the airport to dinner and had our luggage waiting in the room after we were picked up from dinner. The owner took us back to the airport so we could get there earlier than we had requested. Service like that is rare today. Yes, the property is dated, but the walls were thick enough we couldn't hear our neighbors, and it was clean, spacious and comfortable!

I washed my hair because there was a hair dryer in the room only to find out it didn't work. The carpet was nasty. The bathroom was nicely remodeled, and the towels were the best I have had in even higher priced rooms. The bed was sooo comfortable. One of the previous guests had gone through and removed all the creamers from the condiment packs so there was none in the room for coffee. I would think that was something they would check. No elevator. The courtesy van was convenient and driver very accommodating but again reeks of smoke. The staff is helpful and breakfast was excellent. My rating goes low for the reeking smell of smoke, nasty carpet and fake hair dryer. The location isn't great, but they offer drives to the downtown area, airport and train. My brother stayed at the Wingate in the Ship Creek area and the police were out there several times chasing the homeless away while one guy showed up having a huge gash on his head leaving blood everywhere. The staff just through water over it so that you had to walk past it to get into the lobby. That was not the case at Merrill Field.

Whoever owns this motel is a slumlord. Location is far from everything in a very sketchy part of town. Lot's of homeless and trash on the streets in this area of town. No shampoo bottle in the room. Two microscopic bars of soap. A/C barely worked. Hard to find an electrical outlet that worked. An outlet sparked when I plugged in my charger and the charger didn't work after that. Carpet was filthy. The pictures online must be 40 years old because this felt like a hotel that is rented by the hour not the night. It sounded like the people above us were going to fall through the ceiling. We heard every step they took and it was loud. The shuttle was going to take 40 minutes to get to the airport so we took an Uber. Will NEVER stay here again!

Clean, good breakfast. Handy shuttle service.

When I first pulled up to this hotel, I was afraid to go in. It looks like something from a 1970s crime drama, but that’s just because I’m used to sleeping in hotels near airports or city centers, for work. Once I got the nerve to go in, the room was huge, and it was very clean. The bathtubs were cleaner than most Marriotts. The view was horrendous, I was between a porn (not pawn) shop and an auto parts store, but it was quiet all night, and I had zero issues. The staff, I did not get the woman’s name, but she was great. Super friendly, super helpful, just an all-around good experience.

If you are looking for a place to stay for the night before you board the train to Whittier, this place works. Not fancy, good breakfast, shuttle to the train.

Breakfast was good. Shuttle was very helpful.

Nice room.

Quick stay, clean and reasonably...

I especially liked the continental breakfast and the shuttle to the airport.
